If you haven't yet, you need to come check out J-DAMMIT at Harrisburg University of Science and Technology! And if you do, there's one more day to get eyes on a cold spray AM as Jake Keiper and Dylan Treaster demo a LightSPEE3D system knocking out shaped charge liners! Come learn about the use case for CSAM and learn where it can be successful. Our friends from Freemelt AB are also showing off EB-PBF parts at our both, so if you are interested in refractories, let us know!

Everything is measurable at Fraunhofer IFAM. Have a look at the different wetting behavior of my Binder Jetting powders! Different particle sizes, materials, packing densities etc. lead to different wetting times. Keep this in mind the next time you work with a new powder on your Binder Jetting system. 😊 I can watch these videos all day! So meditative! I love this post as it shows that there are variables when being a #MAKER. If you can understand the variables, and how a change can impact results, you can be successful in making #metalparts. Great post Lea Reineke. #additivemanufacturing #3dprinting #binderjet

Successfully completed the ICDD XRD-II clinic to learn detail about X-ray diffraction technique for quantitative analysis and structural refinements. A new era started in my career.
Congratulations! Another great week of X-ray Powder Diffraction! The next big event is the Denver X-ray Conference in Colorado - have you registered yet? www.dxcicdd.com

Paper Accepted 🎉: A super-accurate Bow Shock on just 10x18 cells... We received the acceptance notice for our paper: "An extended discontinuous Galerkin shock tracking method" by Jakob Vandergrift and Florian Kummer (preprint: https://lnkd.in/ee_ud4bY) There, we present a novel method to simulate a supersonic shock (transition from super- to sub-sonic flow) in front of a so-called "blunt body" with very high accuracy on a rather coarse mesh.

Recently, in joint work with Yang Li, we answered a longstanding question raised by Taubes (1991) and proved a compactness theorem for Fueter sections towards defining a new 3-manifold Floer theory. We believe this result is a key step in our program to prove the Donaldson-Segal conjecture. Here’s a recent video of my talk on the subject for anyone interested in knowing more about this program: https://lnkd.in/e3puiaAV

I am happy to share our new paper about "Proximity-Induced Exchange Interaction and Prolonged Valley Lifetime in MoSe2/CrSBr van-der-Waals Heterostructure with Orthogonal Spin Textures". We show that the atomic proximity of monolayer MoSe2 and the antiferromagnetic van-der-Waals crystal CrSBr leads to an unexpected breaking of time-reversal symmetry, with originally perpendicular spin directions in both materials. https://lnkd.in/dShZ5p2Q

Missed our docking webinar last week? Catch up with the recording on YouTube and learn: 1) How we can automate complex preparation, alignment, selection, and preparation for docking, with a hands-on demonstration of Surflex-Dock in action addressing a variety of docking examples 2) How we can predict the binding modes of future ligands, using a temporal case study where target structures used for docking were determined prior to those of the ligands being docked 3) How Surflex-Dock can use non-macrocyclic complexes to predict the binding modes of macrocyclic ligands https://lnkd.in/eiGp52qM
