What are the key points to consider yourself when moving another job or industry ? Myanmar 🇲🇲 is having big challenges in economic and, exploring new opportunities. The situation is not good and, some companies are using those weaknesses on candidates. I am sharing my own thoughts to support each other but, still we are doing our best to survive here. 1). Opportunities You will be a person who report directly to C-level. You will be a person who bring equal for team members and, lead the partnerships. You can build a good network at new position. 2). Promoted Rank Every company have internal and external ranking that you may officially update on LinkedIn and resume. 3). Salary Considering salary is part of acquiring own development. Company might tell you that they have plenty of opening courses and, etc. Eventually, you are the pardon that consider to improve self contribution on professional career. 4). Potential Market Same rank but switching industries wiould be potential growth for you to consider future time investment. People invest their time and effort to earn achievements and success life. If a company can tell you non of those, do not choose it. 5). Passion People inspire people ! When you are considering a change, ask yourself that do I have enough passion to make it happen ? If yes, just go. Rules : 1). You are the person who pay tax for your own. 2). You will be removed when your performances are not enough for achievements. 3). Company never be a charity place. 4). Everything need to be equal and benefit for company and you. 5). Professional workplace. Do not consider to move another job or industry if those facts are not complied. Some people feel overlooked and unqualified when they don’t get any replies or job interviews from the companies after applying for several jobs through job platforms like LinkedIn, Indeed, Glassdoor, and JobsDb,…  You know what? Recruiters often can’t read every CV because of the volume of CVs they get through platforms. For Myanmar job seekers especially those fleeing from Myanmar because of political crisis, the challenges are compounded by stringent employment law in countries like Thailand and Singapore which require a 4:1 local-to-foreigner hiring ratio. Despite these obstacles, there are some practical tips to improve your job search success: 𝐃𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐍𝐞𝐭𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠: Use LinkedIn to connect directly with hiring managers and recruiters. Express your interest in specific vacancies to make a personal connection and increase your chances of being noticed. 𝐓𝐚𝐢𝐥𝐨𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐀𝐩𝐩𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬: Customize your CV and cover letter for each job. The truth about career breaks: They’re often not holidays. I rarely see someone go to Bali for months and chill. They are: - Taking time off to look after a loved one. - Recovering from a toxic boss/company. - Grieving a divorce/break-up. - Learning a new skill. - Looking for a job. Anyone who takes time off the certainty of a pay check to add some balance and equanimity to their life are courageous and should be respected. Who cares if you take 6 months off in a 20 year career. Build a life, not a resume.

If you lose your job for whatever reason or are redundant in your company, how long can you survive without employment? I was once jobless for 3 years and 8 months straight after my contract in Laos as expat had ended. I landed to an interview for just 3 times but all were unsuccessful. Our neighbors were even thinking that I will be selling properties just to survive joblessness. The thing that they don't know, even if I am unemployed, I have some other skills and talent that could earn me a living. On top of that, I always save for the rainy season. 🌟 Reflections on Starting a Job Without an Official Contract 🌱 As a jobless individual, I recently found myself in a unique situation—a promising job offer for a construction project in Thailand, accepted before the new year, but without an official contract. Reflecting on this experience, I've distilled the greatest lessons learned into five key subjects: 1️⃣ Lack of Official Contract: Situation: Accepted a job offer without a formal contract. Action: Requested a written confirmation detailing roles, responsibilities, and compensation. Result: Clarity on expectations and a reference in case of disputes. 2️⃣ Unclear Terms and Conditions: Situation: Terms and conditions of the offer were vague. Action: Initiated dialogue to clarify expectations, working hours, and compensation. Result: Mutual understanding and prevention of conflicts. 3️⃣ Legal Protection and Rights: Situation: Risk of being disadvantaged without legal protection. Action: Familiarized myself with Thai labor laws. Result: Empowerment to assert rights and seek recourse if needed. 4️⃣ Building Trust and Professionalism: Situation: Needed to build trust despite the lack of a contract. Action: Demonstrated professionalism and reliability. Result: Cultivated a positive relationship based on trust. 5️⃣ Exit Strategy and Contingency Planning: Situation: Lacked a clear exit strategy. Action: Continuously assessed job satisfaction and explored alternatives. Result: Provided a safety net for a smooth transition if needed. Navigating this scenario has taught me invaluable lessons in communication, diligence, and preparedness.
