The base plate corners can become compressed against the concrete, inducing additional prying forces, which, in turn, lead to an increase in the tensile force in the anchors. 💡 A key factor influencing the magnitude of prying forces is the thickness of the base plate. A thicker base plate can significantly reduce the prying effect, contributing to a more efficient connection design. As per your understanding, do you think that you have the right to install a "Post Installed Adhesive Anchor" to a concrete element before 21 days in case the concrete compressive strength reached a value higher than the one expected at the 21th day?! Structural cracks are one of the concerning factor in retro-fitting project. It can be because of number of factors i.e., low strength of existing concrete, vibratory activities on weak structure, condition or aging of structure and many more. These cracks can vary from minor to major or through depending on severity & condition of structure. There are number of remedy but in this post i want to emphasize about epoxy injection treatment, Initially it is closed with help of packer & filling and epoxy is injected with high pressure, due to high viscosity of liquid & hardener it can spread and rest even in minor cracks. Also it goes in the pours of concrete, develop bond between with surface, once hardened it act as medium that binds both sides of crack. For through cracks it is recommended to inject from bottom of slab instead from above, at an angle of 45. So that we can have an enclosed system. #CivilEngineering #Retrofitting #Cracksremedy
