La Marzocco and Hemro Group launch the Hands for Songwa Foundation! This remarkable initiative finds its roots in the Songwa Estates non-profit project, which originated in 2007 with the steadfast collaboration and sponsorship of the initial three industry leaders: La Marzocco, Hemro and Probat. The Hands for Songwa Foundation is a locally driven endeavour that marks the evolution of the Songwa Estates project, now set to carry forward its original mission independently. The Songwa Estates Project, in its initial phase, was designed to uplift the quality of life for the community residing near the Songwa plantation in the Mbeya region of Tanzania. La Marzocco and Hemro – alongside the past involvement of coffee roaster manufacturer, fueled by a commitment to social responsibility, funded various infrastructure projects by contributing a percentage of their profits. Hello LinkedIn community, Please take these 5 minutes and read this article, and you can also support us with sharing to reach more people. Asante Sana. I am Heiko from Bavaria and my better half she is from Tanzania. We have registered last year here in Zanzibar our small startup company Amiko. We are looking forward to growing up and for this we search for an investor or private support. What is the company Amiko doing: About this issue we are looking for an investor to get forward with our business here in Zanzibar. And we are 100% convinced that this business has an enormous potential. The major business in Zanzibar will our production of sustainable and healthy food products and our special farm restaurant. Our products are various sausages, smoked foods, bread/baguettes, and different prepared cooked dishes for restaurants such as Bolognese sauce. We also want later cakes, sweet pastries and ice cream produces. Our sustainable concept is Made in Tansania and all food products without chemicals or additives. Healthy food in close cooperation with local farmers. We want to reduce the imports and have a small ecological footprint for the environment and nature. And with renewable energy. At what we need to invest: Last year at our promotion with our sample’s we were amazingly fast finding some costumer, but we cannot produce in our kitchen, and it was also not conformed to the regulation of the ZFDA (Food authority’s). About this issue we want to build our small production building with a covered terrace for 4-5 tables for the special farm restaurant. Also, we need some bigger machine for the production. We want also installing a photovoltaic system for the renewable energy. The costs of this project are around 25.000$ - 30.000$ completely. Now to the private support. We look for some people who want support us with donations and we can start immediately with the construction work. About the donation, you need to know the following. It is a matter close to our hearts that we want to do something good for the community and have therefore planned our foundation. 10% of our income goes directly to this foundation, where we want to carry out aid projects with children. This was also told and recorded when the company was registered. We will work directly with children's homes and orphanages. The donations we received for the construction of the production building will then be contributed going 1:1 to our foundation. So, your donations are only temporary for the development of our startup and later completely for our aid projects. https://lnkd.in/eKSh3pAX paypal.me/hoampf Here the link from my first article. https://lnkd.in/dKfHHTvj

Let’s start with the SDG15-SIX-DAY-SERIES This is day 1 Goal 15 is about conserving life on land. It is to protect and restore terrestrial ecosystems, sustainably manage forests, combat desertification, and halt and reverse land degradation and stop biodiversity loss. Earth’s ecosystems are vital for sustaining human life, they contribute to over half of global GDP and encompass diverse cultural, spiritual, and economic values. Between 2015 and 2019, at least 100 million hectares of healthy and productive land were degraded every year, impacting the lives of 1.3 billion people. Global and regional efforts to sustain forest ecosystems as well as their social, economic and environmental functions are essential, in particular for developing countries and the tropics. 🌎 🌏 🌍 Avinjo.org - Empowering NGOs Avinjo #Avinjo #NGO #fundraising #crowdfunding #GlobalSouth #nonprofit #SDG15 #Agenda2030 #lifeonland Source: https://lnkd.in/ejeKUVb

Today is #InternationalForestDay a global initiative by the United Nations to stress the importance of these ecosystems in the fight against climate change. 🌳 At MATERI’ACT we know that warning people of forests degradation is a key element to protect them from deforestation. And so, we take this opportunity to highlight the work of #Refauresta a project led by FORVIA Interiors North American team. But what is #Refauresta? - Planting trees in Mexico 🌱 - Contributing to local biodiversity.🐾 - More than 25.000 tress planted. 🌴 However, the portrayal of #Refauresta today is anything but innocent 😌 ; they rely on our support! 🙌 Their next target is to plant 2,000 trees in a natural reserve close to Puebla. They've initiated a crowdfunding campaign titled "Let's Plant More Trees Together," aiming to raise funds for planting 2,000 trees. 🌳 We can support #Refauresta by donating via the following link : https://lnkd.in/eqZW_pCS #biodiversity #forest #support
Today is #InternationalForestDay, a global initiative by the United Nations to highlight the importance of these ecosystems in the fight against climate change, and to warn of the danger of their degradation. Countries and citizens are encouraged to undertake local, national and international efforts to organize activities involving forests and trees, such as tree planting campaigns. On this particular day, I would like to highlight once again the #Refauresta initiative, a truly remarkable social and environmental initiative, leaded by our North American team and initially financed by the #FORVIA foundation. In 2022, the #Refauresta initiative created a greenhouse in Mexico that produces 20,000 trees per year that are destined to reforest urban and forest areas. Today, thanks to more than 1,900 volunteers, #Refauresta has planted more than 26,500 trees in Mexico. In order to amplify their impact, #Refauresta needs our support. They have launched a crowdfunding campaign “Let’s plant more trees together”. The goal is to raise enough money to plant 2,000 trees. They will be planted in Puebla, Mexico, with the help of volunteers in a nature reserve. The cost of one tree is $14 USD. You can donate here: https://lnkd.in/e54xrqaj. I am very proud and very grateful of our North American team for the #Refauresta initiative. I hope many of you will be able to help them grow. You can contact Amelia Diaz. if you wish to know more about #Refauresta and how you can contribute. We are always looking for more volunteers and support! #WeCare #FORVIAproud #Biodiversity

NFCPT Renovates Ngatuvevatere Children’s Home in Kalkfeld: Maria David THE Namibia Fish Consumption Promotion Trust (NFCPT) recently handed over a newly renovated and refurbished Ngatuvevatere Children’s Home to the home’s administration and the Kalkfeld community. The renovations were completed at a cost of about N$1.3 million through NFCPT’s Corporate Social Investment (CSI) initiative, in partnership with the Namibia Institute of Mining and Technology (NIMT). The initiative aims to improve the living conditions and future prospects of vulnerable children in the Otjozondjupa Region. The project was carried out in three phases, including the rewiring and electrification of the facility, full renovations of the boys’ and girls’ hostels, the kitchen, library, computer room, office, laundry, and storerooms. --- The first phase involved electrical upgrades valued at N$109,992. This was followed by major renovations costing N$1,050,000, and an additional N$85,190 allocated to branding the facilities. Minister of Fisheries and Marine Resources, Derek Klazen, described the Ngatuvevatere Children’s Home as a beacon of hope for children who might otherwise be overlooked or marginalized, offering them an opportunity to live somewhat normal lives and work toward a brighter future. Klazen emphasized that NFCPT’s investment embodies Namibia’s national commitment to uplifting and supporting those in need, particularly vulnerable children. “NFCPT’s Corporate Social Investment policy is an integral part of Namibia’s developmental framework, showcasing how public entities like NFCPT can reinvest in the communities that support them while contributing to national development goals,” he said. He further encouraged other public entities to consider the broader social impact of their operations and to make tangible differences in the lives of vulnerable children. Meanwhile, Suzan Ndjaleka, Chairperson of NFCPT’s Board of Trustees, said that NFCPT has committed to a three-year partnership with the Children’s Home. This agreement includes donating 90 kg of horse mackerel every quarter, totaling 1,080 kg over three years, to ensure the children have access to nutritious meals. “So far, NFCPT has donated 450 kg of fish, valued at N$12,800.70, to the Children’s Home. We also provided essential furniture, including cabinets, desks, tables, couches, and freezers, at the beginning of our contract in June last year to meet the daily needs of the children and caregivers at this warm home,” Ndjaleka said. She added that NFCPT remains committed to supporting Namibia’s most vulnerable communities through ongoing Corporate Social Investment initiatives, aimed at improving lives and advancing the Government’s developmental agenda. A great way for clients to engage with their stakeholders in a common cause.
150,000+ trees have been planted in Thailand this year, and Grab plans to allow users to donate and track the growth of individual trees virtually in 3D by collaborating with EcoMatcher. How does it work? A carbon offset feature on the app allows users to make a donation, and these funds support reforestation and conservation projects managed by local non-governmental organizations. Country Head of Grab Thailand, Worachat L., shared that in 2023, the team completed 24 million transactions through the app’s transport and delivery services. Beyond combating climate change, Grab and EcoMatcher involve farmers and rural residents in their tree-planting projects. This creates jobs, improves soil quality, and empowers local communities by contributing to sustainable livelihoods and poverty reduction.
