The Cybersecurity Career Ambassador Program is on a mission to weave a vibrant tapestry of volunteers - through employers, educators, and more - who stand as beacons, guiding folks to shape a diverse and robust cybersecurity workforce. Ambassadors, you're the heroes here! - Spark inspiration, engage hearts, and fill minds with knowledge about the booming demand for cybersecurity talent, the learning avenues open for exploration, and the many career paths waiting to be discovered. - Break down the cybersecurity career myths by highlighting the assorted learning routes and credentials leading to roles outlined in the NICE Workforce Framework for Cybersecurity. - Bolster initiatives and resources that craft a highly skilled, diverse workforce, with a special shoutout to programs uplifting women, minorities, veterans, disabled individuals, and other underrepresented groups. Cybersecurity Career Ambassadors are the heart and soul of our quest to magnify cybersecurity awareness and champion workforce diversity. Whether through schools, local organizations, places of worship, or workplaces, ambassadors can host talks or community events to spread the word. We’re on the hunt for passionate folks! Dive into the Ambassador journey with our info session for Community of Interest (COI) members. Two steps for you to do: 1. Join the COI by emailing: NICEAmbassadorProgram+subscribe@list.nist.gov 2. Attend the next information session - details soon (link will be shared with current members of the COI).

Happily listened to this👇 podcast yesterday; I found most of it highly relevant to my work in #Local #PublicHealth. Some take-aways: - We've evolved to expect #institutions to support health and wellbeing first, which just isn't doable/sustainable. How can we shift to set #communities up to do much more, with institutions as a support? With each, we might privilege different types of knowing/knowledge. - This emphasis on institutions has an impact on #HealthyAging--in retirement we are thrown back into community after a lifetime of institutions, with very different sets of values. This is not an easy shift and doesn't set older adults up to thrive. - It is essential to focus at the #neighbourhood level to find our responses to the #polycrisis - We need to foreground relationships and community--and relationships *in* community (rather than just those in the institution/workplace). - In addition to whatever field we're working in, we "need a pedagogy which, basically, is about how to work with communities, and that should be a foundational pedagogy, on top of which technical pedagogies are built. In the absence of that, what you have is a very individualized, and very technocratic way of doing business..." - Let's be engaged learners in the community (i.e., do community engagement)--don't be institutional centric. I'm catching up on past episodes and they shared some hopes for future ones: examples of what people are doing on wellbeing and health, examples of resident-led initiatives, principles of community-engaged learning, the justice system, aging, and the importance of relationships with the land. Looking forward to listening.
I support people, social movements, organisations, and Governments to move towards more integrated community-centred policies and approaches.

One of my favorite parts of working in the marketing department at Akron Community Foundation is sharing the stories of the nonprofits impacting our community. Check out this snippet from our latest Community Issues Session, demonstrating the healing power of the arts. #MentalHealthAwarenessMonth #AkronArts
If you missed our recent Community Issues Session exploring the intersection of arts and healing, check out this quick video that highlights a success story from Community Support Services - Summit County.

Retention or downloads? Investors, which matters more in the early stages? Our app (Around Me) succeeded in its initial user acquisition strategies last quarter at the University of California, Riverside. We saw strong initial interest, but we wanted to prioritize long-term engagement before scaling. We learned that a great user experience is key to keeping people coming back. That's why we built this amazing team (check out their video! ) to focus on UX improvements and new features. But what sets us apart? We're a "Not for Dating" app for instant meetups with verified UCR students, connecting diverse communities across campus. We're already collaborating with 100 clubs in UCR, and it's getting awesome! Want to join the #NotForDating revolution? Tell us what kind of instant meetup features you'd love in the comments! Please feel free to reach out to me if you're leading any community within the campus. #ucr #studentlife #networking #communitybuilding #ucriverside
Introducing our team members, each bringing their unique talents and passion to the table. Stay tuned as we take you on a journey with the faces that make 'Around Me' a thriving community!
