National Interim and Permanent Public Sector Procurement and NHS Business Director at Michael Page, the home of Procurement Recruitment.

Think about all the classic procurement process diagrams you have seem over your career - they all stop at bid award and supplier onboarding. Classically many Buyers will work with stakeholders from specification of need through to supplier on boarding and then the awarded contracts and the relationship is handed over to the internal stakeholder to manage but in the new world of Procurement Act 2023, is that going to be enough? With changes in organisations ability to disbar suppliers, potentially more active contracts and relationship management with further governance around contracts may be required to allow organisations to disbar suppliers without fear of challenge. This skill set and the confidence around it isn't something you will find in your team over night - so what are your plans to further develop your team in these "softer" skills to manage these relationships? I'd be genuinely interested to hear your skills development plans for your teams that go further than the free legislative training being provided? #procurementwithpurpose #procurementexcellence #procurementleaders #procurementleadership #procurementact

Contracts Managers that do nothing more than contract manage is the way forward. Few organisations public or private are willing to stump up for them in addition to procurement teams
