Struggling to attract top talent to your company? This could be why. Lots of talented individuals walk away from jobs due to this single, preventable reason: ✨ micromanagement. ✨ It stifles creativity, demotivates your best people, and ultimately leads to a revolving door of talent. Top performers crave - and deserve - autonomy. When every step is dictated, they become disengaged and look for opportunities where their skills are valued. Creating a culture of trust is a great way to set yourself apart - as well as retain/attract the best talent. Looking for top performers who thrive in a collaborative environment? A question for the network: Like many recruiters, the past year has been lean, and business development has become a priority. I have a prospective client I've never spoken to before, but I know I could probably secure the business if I tried. We understand their space well, and they’re hiring for roles we specialize in. However... This company has a REALLY tough reputation. Juniors burn out after 18 months of 80-hour weeks, mostly on US client work. Senior employees have a very mixed (read: awful) feedback, and many people are leaving. So, what would you do? * Walk away, head held high? I don't suggest places like this to candidates. * Take on the roles, brief the candidates about the tough work environment, and let them decide as we're all grown-ups? (I've already decided on the first option, but I’m curious to hear your thoughts!) #RecruitmentChallenges #BusinessDevelopment #ToughDecisions #WorkCultureMatters #RecruitersLife #Hiring #CareerAdvice #BusinessEthics #GrowthMindset #HR #Leadership #ProfessionalGrowth

How to hire amazing employees? It's a 4 step process. follow them carefully. 1. Hire people that are sincere 2. Hire people that are good-natured 3. Hire people that are driven. 4. Hire people with a strong work ethic. Don't just settle for. 1. Education. 2. Certifications 3. Experience While these are important, they don't tell the whole story. Look beyond the resume. Find traits that contribute to a positive culture. Seek out those who go the extra mile. Surround yourself with individuals who share your vision and values. They are the ones who will drive your organization forward. Invest in character and potential, not just credentials. #hr #humanresources #employeeexperience #talent #hiring #leaders #people #leadership #jobs #jobseekers #culture #culturematters #business #growth #branding #strategy #hrstrategy #interviews #tips #linkedin #linkedinconnections #talentnexa #aach

Jacob Raine shares his thoughts on working within recruitment platforms that support long-term success: "If you’re feeling stagnant in your current role, it may be a sign that it’s time to seek a new opportunity—one that offers more than just a job, but a platform for long-term growth and career advancement. The right firm should do more than simply provide you with a position; it should empower you to take ownership of projects, lead teams, and play an integral role in shaping the company’s success. Look for organizations that prioritize professional development and offer clear, structured pathways to leadership. In today’s competitive job market, a great platform is one where your contributions are not only recognized but celebrated, and where your hard work can translate into real opportunities for advancement. Whether you're looking to move into management, expand your influence across departments, or become a subject-matter expert, finding the right company is key. A strong, supportive platform should provide you with the tools, mentorship, and autonomy to thrive. By joining an organization that aligns with your goals and values, you’ll not only secure a fulfilling position but also build a sustainable, long-term career that sets you up for continued success." #staffing #recruitment #advice

Hiring the right person for the right role is both an art and a science. During my time leading product and strategy teams, I learned that a structured approach to candidate evaluation can make all the difference. When faced with hiring decisions, I often used a framework that helped me move beyond gut instincts and focus on the skills, behaviors, and cultural alignment critical for success. I created a Candidate Evaluation Template, and it played a huge role in ensuring I brought in team members who could grow with us and add meaningful value. With layoffs and new opportunities emerging, it's more important than ever to evaluate candidates holistically. If you’re a leader making hiring decisions, this template might help you find your next great match! Let me say it again, being a great manager does not make you a great hiring manager One of the most common misconceptions I’ve come across is that being a great manager naturally makes you a great hiring manager. But the truth is, hiring is a skill that has to be learned, just like leadership. When interviewing (i personally don't like the term 'interview' but oh well), it’s not just about whether a candidate ticks off all the technical boxes—there’s a lot more at stake. How well will they fit into the team? Are they aligned with your company culture? And, perhaps most importantly, how trainable are they? With Gen Z increasingly joining the workforce, we’re seeing a major shift. Candidates aren’t just looking for jobs anymore—they’re assessing us on culture, values, and the ability to connect with who we are as a company. If we don’t get on the same page, we risk turning to empty pages in our talent pool. 👥 What do you think? Do you agree that hiring requires its own skill set? Have you had experiences where culture fit was more important than technical fit? Let’s get the conversation going in the comments. I’d love to hear your thoughts! 👇 #Hiring #Leadership #CultureFit #GenZWorkforce #TalentAcquisition #Staffing #HR #BSS
