Can Artificial Rain really combat severe level of Air Pollution? It might help in short term but we need a permanent solution. This is like putting a band-aid on a wound that needs stitches. Interim CM says it is "seasonal" phenomenon. Sorry but my fundamental right to live in a pollution-free environment isn't up for sale. Can we come up with better solutions like incentivizing people to choose greener transportation like free or heavily subsidized access to Electric public transport. We need better Law enforcement against stubble burning. Beyond enforcement, R&D of new chemicals and devices to decompose the crop residue is need of the hour. The question is: are we willing to act? NIA-funded research found that long-term exposure to pollution, especially from traffic, may lead to the loss of independence in older adults. Using data from over 25,000 adults ages 50 and older, researchers studied pollution from road traffic, non-road traffic, and nitrogen dioxide. They estimated the total cost of individuals losing independence due to traffic-related air pollution exposure was $11.7 billion annually. Air conditioning #pollution desperately needs to be addressed, say European Commission The European Commission’s Joint Research Centre (JRC) have released a study highlighting the major pollution caused by #heating and #cooling systems The JRC study shows just how much of a challenge air conditioning pollution remains, with a large chunk of that coming from the heating and cooling sector across #Europe. The emissions from #airconditioning include 73% of particulate matter (PM2.5), 33% of nitrogen oxides (NOx), 2% ammonia (NH3), 18% of non-methane volatile organic compounds (NMVOCs), 61% of carbon monoxide (CO), and 49% of sulphur dioxide (SO2). Baddi's pollution data trends reveal serious challenges. 💡 Winter months recorded the highest levels of PM2.5 and PM10. 💡 Though the annual average PM2.5 reduced by 6% from 2022 to 2023, the annual average PM2.5 for 2023 was 1.5 times the permissible limit. 💡Though the annual average PM10 reduced by 13.3% from 2022 to 2023, the annual average PM10 for 2023 was 2.2 times the safe threshold. Sustainability and the decarbonization of effluent/produced water is good business and has a quick payback in the produced water oil industry. The inefficiencies of the past effluent management systems created massive pollution globally because people thought 0.5% oil in water was insignificant.
