Do you want elongated bunch in grapes? Size of grape berry and a cluster matters a lot in quality Grape production. Length and thickness of a cluster depends on the length of stalk and petals. A longer cluster also gives more space for the berries to grow, thus increasing berry size at maturity. Using GA3 in the pre- bloom stage increases the number of cells and helps improve the length of a cluster. Auxins present in vine enhances the effect of GA3. Zinc is necessary to promote auxin production in the vine and to increase the lifespan of pollen grains. Calcium is essential in forming cells and Boron is essential for easy movement of Calcium in the plant. All these elements help in elongation of the grape bunches. Therefore, use of liquid formulation of Calcium, Boron and cold extract of Ecklonia Maxima that is rich in natural Auxins helps in achieving a good bunch length in grapes. A question that keeps coming up at tradeshows is when Health Canada will approve monk fruit extract and allulose as sweeteners. Both are widely used in the United States but neither are allowed in Canada or Europe. Stevia went through a similar long wait. However, when EFSA approved stevia, Health Canada approved it too shortly thereafter. It wouldn't surprise me if the same occurs with monk fruit extract and allulose. Monk fruit concentrate is an alternative. However its sweetness potency is not comparable to the extract and its not feasible to use in all food formats. #tipoftheday, #CHFA, #monkfruitextract, #allulose, #HereToServeYou

For the Tickle of a Cough or the Sting of a Bee. Native to the prairies and sunny fields of US and Mexico, Lemon Beebalm (aka. Lemon Bergamot; Monarda citriodora) is a flowering annual that grows up to about 3 feet high with blooming stems of white, purple or pink flowers. When brushed, its foliage gives an oregano-like scent with lemon top notes. The flowering plant attracts bees to the garden, as well as birds and butterflies, and can cover entire fields with flowers in the summer. Lemon Beebalm makes a refreshing herbal iced-tea or addition to regular teas, and is sometimes used to flavor dishes such as seafood and meat dishes. The essential oil contains thymol and carvacrol as major components, which is consistent with traditional use. Through scientific investigation, broad spectrum antimicrobial activity has been found, as well as antiproliferative and antioxidant activities. Lemon Beebalm also has an essential oil which contains citronellol, making it effective as an insect repellant. Lemon Beebalm also has a history of use by the Native Americans and continues on today as an herbal medicine used especially as a tea for colds, coughs, respiratory conditions and fevers. The “Beebalms” have a history of use (and thus common name) for being rubbed topically on the body to sooth bee stings. 🍄 How to identify the purity of mushroom powders and extracts? 🍄 There are different kind of specifications and price of mushroom powers and extract in the market. today we recommend one method to test or identify whether the starchy/dextrin are in these mushrooms. Step 1.Preparation of iodine solution Step 2.Sample processing A:Weigh 1.0g of the sample that has been crushed through a 20mm aperture sieve and place it in a 20ml centrifuge tube with a stopper. B:After adding 25ml of water, use a vortex shaker to mix or dissolve the sample thoroughly C:Measure 10ml of the supernatant into a 20ml stoppered glass tube, add 1 drop of iodine solution, mix several times using a vortex shaker, and observe whether there is blue or red color after the reaction between starch or dextrin and the iodine solution. The photo below demonstrates the positive effects of enzyme treatment on noodles, highlighting enhanced: - Cooking tolerance🧑🍳, - Firmness💪, - Elasticity🌀, and - Surface properties.🌟 Let’s Briefly Review the Subject: 🔹 Specialized lipolytic enzyme complexes contribute to making boiled noodles and pasta - firmer 💪, - smoother 🌊, and - less sticky 🕸️, → resulting in easier disentanglement and improved eating quality 🍜. ▪ This effect is likely due to the formation of monoglycerides through the action of triacylglycerol lipase. ▪ These monoglycerides form stable complexes with the α-helix of amylose molecules 🔗, inhibiting the swelling of starch granules during cooking 🍲. ▪ As a result, less amylose is leached from the granules, leading to a firmer texture and a smoother, less sticky surface. ▪ #Data suggest that similar or even better effects can be achieved through the activity of phospho-lipase or galactolipase instead of triacylglycerol lipase. 🔹 Practical experience also shows that cross-linking enzymes, such as - hexose oxidase and - glucose oxidase 🧬, with specific catalytic activities, can enhance the quality of low-quality wheat flours 🌾. ▪ These flours can be upgraded for the production of pasta and noodles 🍝. ▪ By adding these enzymes to dough with a pH below 8 ⚗️, speck formation can be better controlled 🎯, and the appearance of noodles and pasta can be preserved over a longer period ⏳.
