Abdul Mateen Akhunzada, a Religious Scholar from Balochistan, emphasized the need to rectify governance in both Afghanistan and Pakistan, ensuring basic human rights, particularly women's educational, economic, and social rights. He raised a question that in Muslim societies, how should we respond to the fundamental changes brought by material advancement in human societies? Former Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo recently argued that addressing these challenges requires a fundamental rethinking of how democracy and development are pursued across Africa.
