Celebrating Our March Company Offsite with Unexpected Bonds and Exciting Adventures! 🌞🌟 This year's annual offsite took an unforeseen turn as we shifted our tradition from February to March. We learned the greatest lesson on adaptability and the strength of our team. The picnic site which we decided was vastly different, rugged and our biggest mistake was not conducting a physical recce before deciding on the place. The scorching summer heat added an extra layer of challenge, leaving us feeling dehydrated during our engaging team-building activities, including nerve-testing experiences like the long zipline and aerocycling. However, as the sun went down, the weather became pleasant. The evening was spent chit-chatting about life, playing refreshing games, and enjoying the pool. DJ at night became the backdrop for unforgettable moments, as the 80 of us danced our hearts out. A special highlight was the bonding among our senior leadership, who joined in childhood hand-tapping games. This gesture broke down barriers and created connections that go beyond the professional realm. In spite of all the challenges we faced, it was heartening to see that nothing could dampen the spirits of team PrintStop India. On December 30th, I will be celebrating 28 years at HARMAN. Thanks to everyone who took the time to send their well wishes; much appreciated. Well, what can I say...it's been an exhilarating ride so far! As I paused to reflect on the past 28 years, I can’t help but highlight some of the reasons that have kept me at HARMAN: 1. I believe that my work has PURPOSE and MEANING, and adds value to the departments that I support, as well as the organization. 2. I have always felt a sense of belonging, where I can bring my BEST SELF and talent to work. 3. I believe that I am part of something special, including the culture, as well as being a vital member of the Digital and DTS Teams. 4. HARMAN continues to provide a psychologically safe working environment, where I have always felt respected, appreciated, and treated fairly. 6. 🔍 While EVs have captured the headlines, Maruti has quietly built its revenue on a trend most of us have overlooked. 🚗 One out of every three car models sold by India's biggest carmaker, Maruti Suzuki, is powered by CNG. Yes, CNG. This is the first quarter where CNG sales have outpaced diesel across the passenger vehicle segment. 💹 CNG vehicles were at the core of Maruti's impressive revenue numbers last quarter. The running costs of a CNG vehicle can be up to 40% lower than that of a petrol car. This is a significant attraction for a large cost-conscious customer segment willing to compromise on boot space taken over by the gas tank. 📈 Interestingly, 42% of buyers are first-time buyers, while additional car buyers make up 38%, and replacement demand is at 20%. So, the market reach is increasing. 🔋 Remember, Maruti, in association with Toyota, has stayed away from EVs, backing hybrids as the next big thing in this space. Life has a way of throwing unexpected challenges our way. Recently, my trusty 2010 Jeep Liberty decided it was time for us to part ways. With two blown head gaskets and a repair bill higher than its worth, I had to make the tough decision to let it go. Timing wasn't ideal, but sometimes we don't get to choose when things happen. So, I embraced the situation, said goodbye to my old friend and welcomed "Maz" -- my new 2018 Jeep Compass. It's not red. It's actually "spitfire orange," and it's a stick shift (brings back high school/early college memories). This experience reinforced my new motto: "Breathe in, Breathe out, Move on." It's a reminder that we can't control everything that happens to us, but we can control how we respond. By staying calm, accepting the present and moving forward, we can navigate through any challenge life throws our way. CE Hon. Tracey Martin is en route to Reefton today to meet with locals fighting to replace the aged care services their community lost earlier this year. For many, the closure of Ziman House has meant loved ones must leave their town, their community, and their loved ones to receive the care they need. Today's update explores the challenges of delivering care in rural areas such as Reefton, and what New Zealand can learn from Australia's approach. Because we don’t have to reinvent the wheel here; we can learn from proven models and adapt them to meet the unique needs of our communities, ensuring equitable access to care for all New Zealanders, no matter where they live. Tracey also points out that these scenarios are the results of decisions. Somewhere along the way, a decision has been made inside Te Whatu Ora, inside government, that it is okay not to provide aged care to some of our communities. The ACA continues to call for members of government to look at what the Australian’s are doing, and consider the benefits for the New Zealand aged care sector of adopting innovative funding models, like block funding, to support rural and regional communities in providing sustainable and locally tailored aged care solutions. #AgedCare #RuralHealthcare #RuralCommunities
