Wrapping up my first week back at work after maternity leave, and it’s been a mix of change and familiarity. The industry has evolved, but my passion for market data has only grown stronger. It’s hard to believe I’ll soon be celebrating 7 years in this field! To mark the milestone, I’m compiling everything I’ve learned into a series of papers – stay tuned for something exciting coming soon! #MaternityLeave, #BackToWork, #MarketData, #DataInsights, #CareerMilestone, #WomenInFinance, #FinanceIndustry, #DataAnalysis, #CareerGrowth, #FinancialMarkets, #ProfessionalJourney

😅 Weekly Wrap-Up: Data, Determination, and a Dash of Exhaustion 😅 Another week down, folks! It’s been a whirlwind of data, coffee, and determination. I’d like to say I gracefully balanced my tasks, but honestly, there may have been a few “what day is it again?” moments. This week, I had a Census Data Adventure and let’s just say the US Census dataset and I are on a first-name basis now! I’ve been diving deep into the numbers, unraveling insights, and, on some days, convincing the data to make sense. Turns out, census data is full of surprises – who knew data could be so…quirky? Spoiler alert: some data behaved, some…not so much. But hey, it’s all about progress, right? As the weekend approaches, I’ll be doing some highly specialized recharging: aka finding the nearest couch, good food, and maybe a series or two. Gotta keep those creative and analytical! juices flowing. How was your week? Any weekend plans? Share below if you’re ready for some much-needed relaxation or a productive spree! #DataScientistLife #WeekendMode #RechargeTime #LightHumor #LinkedInFamily

As part of celebrating Neurodiversity week we want to share the stories of two of our employees about their own personal journey with Neurodiversity and how they are impacted by it in their day to day life. Both Aimee and Liam's stories talk about how they have recently entered the workplace, their advice to other Neurodivergent individuals but also to employers on how they can best support those who are Neurodiverse and what needs to be considered. As a business we have invested in the development of our Managers as a starting point to understand more about Neurodiversity, how it impacts people, how no two individuals are the same, how different people-centred approaches and tailored strategies are required to support each person so that we can harness the strengths and talents of neurodivergent individuals and truly help them to thrive and flourish. We are still on a journey of learning and understanding and doing the right things to ensure that we have the right support in place to enable those with Neurodivergent conditions to thrive. 👇 Use the link in the comments below to have a read of both Aimee’s and Liam's Neurodiversity & Me story. 💫 It’s not one to miss! 💫 #celebratingneurodiversity #neurodiversity2024 #timeforchange #neurodiversityandme

Aimee Wiggins is our Junior Data Analyst, and she has kindly told us her story about being Neurodiverse and how that impacts her day-to-day life at work. She gives incredible advice to any other Neurodivergent individual struggling to enter the workplace and ultimately, it’s a great piece showcasing her journey. 👇 Use the link in the comments below to have a read of Aimee’s Neurodiversity & Me story. 💫 It’s not one to miss! 💫

In a recent ResearchLive article, the focus was on market research terminology that should be eliminated from our industry’s lexicon. I’m going to vote for the termination of “survey experience.” I’m seeing it more and more in industry articles lately and it needs to take a hike. Why? Because any elaboration of it always focuses solely on cutting down the length of surveys as though that alone will result in better data. That will help but it’s only part of the answer and small part at that. The correct term which isn’t used much is “respondent experience” since that encompasses not only what happens during the survey but what happens before the survey even starts, beginning at the moment an invite lands in a panelist’s inbox. If the pre-survey journey is fun, entertaining and enjoyable, the survey has a much better chance of being completed with good focus and that translates to good data. The problem is that today’s pre-survey journey is boring & frustrating but it doesn’t have to be. GMIFY – who knew? #mentalhealth #dataquality #marketresearch #insightsassociation #esomar #newmr
