As a new 2021 feature, each week on a Saturday I am sharing something very special that struck me during the week, something “gold” in the making or a “universal elixir”. I'm calling it the Alchemy Alcove. This week it's all about Extraordinary Women. I saw for the first time a quote that stopped me in my tracks and made me think about two very profound issues. “The extraordinary woman depends on the ordinary woman... it is only when we can measure the life of and experience made possible to the ordinary woman that we can account for the success or failure of the extraordinary woman” - Virginia Woolf. Firstly how do we ordinary women ensure that all our work and breakthroughs forge a passage that enable others to build on the foundation of progress and really triumph? Through mentoring, business coaching and active support I remain totally committed to this pursuit as you know. Secondly, whilst researching this theme I learnt about an amazing BBC series that I had missed: http://ow.ly/7JoI50D9qUP The stories of Rosa Parks, Florence Nightingale, Mary Anning, Harriet Tubman, Grace Darling and Elizabeth Fry are told in the first person and brought vividly to life in so many artistic media, so worth a watch. What has stopped you in your tracks this week?
Excellent post! What has stopped me while looking at dead leaves turning into compost is the thought, "What have I done so far to give back to mother Earth?"
Wow! Very powerful indeed. Makes you wonder..I have been thinking a lot about how “inclusion” is so intrinsic.. it’s how you make people feel rather than see...
Your phenomenal Harriet, May love and light continue to fill your soul for eternity 🙏🏼💐
Thanks Harriet Green I look forward to the next instalment! Rashik Parmar - a complement to Sunday Sprinkles perhaps?
To all the strongest women out there, we admire and salute you ♥️♥️

3ySpecial about this post is the fact that ordinary women can do extraordinary stuff. If we all keep working hard, with our ordinary selves, we can reach extra ordinary greatness. Still within the post is the appreciation on ordinary women who came before us, those who sat, walked, ran, escaped, and talked, but led us to where we are. With such a rich past calling, we are looking at how must must leverage our ordinary, to not only achieve our best but inspire the future generations. Thanks Harriet Green for sharing.
