𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝘄𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝘁 𝘄𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗳𝗲𝗲𝗹 𝗹𝗶𝗸𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗻 𝗯𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗹𝗼𝗰𝗸 𝟮𝟬 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀? That’s exactly how Lee and I feel today after getting healthy together. In January 2018, we were exhausted, drained, and struggling. Fast forward to Oct. 2018: we’re 70 lbs lighter combined! Now Oct 2024 — 6 ½ years: we continue healthy lifestyle together; remaining at a healthy weight and full of … 💥 𝗠𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗴𝘆. 𝗠𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲. 𝗠𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗷𝗼𝘆. We went from dragging our feet to living actively and purposefully. We made a choice that didn’t just change us physically; it 𝗿𝗲𝘄𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗲 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗳𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗹𝘆’𝘀 𝗳𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲, turning a history of health struggles into a 𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘃𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆. Here’s what our journey 𝗗𝗜𝗗𝗡’𝗧 𝗿𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗿𝗲: • Counting calories, points, or carbs. • Eating only salads and chicken. • Crazy workouts or miracle pills. • Prepping all our meals on Sunday. Instead, we 𝗙𝗢𝗖𝗨𝗦 𝗼𝗻: • Creating a healthy environment for our bodies to thrive. • Building habits that are sustainable and don’t feel restrictive. • Showing up for ourselves—and for each other—every day. Consistency is your key. At least, that is what I tell my clients. Whenever you are working on changing your lifestyle habits, to ensure that they are valuable they need to be consistent. The changes don't have to be huge. It can be as small as adding five minutes of self-care time, or as big as changing your nutritional habits and adding in an exercise routine. The most important part is to make it happen every day. Consistent change. Each day of consistent change will turn into a habit to make it a lasting lifestyle change. It doesn't happen overnight. Our culture loves to project instant gratification, but in the realm of lifestyle change, it doesn't typically happen that way. It takes time. Take each day at a time. And depending on the goal, it may be taking things by every hour, or even every minute. Change isn't easy. If it was, everyone would do it. However, making changes to improve your health are always worth it. Do your best to keep each small change consistently. One day all of the consistent small changes will yield amazing results.
