“Health care professionals of the Year”: HARTMANN Czech Republic promotes recognition of health care professionals Health care professionals form the backbone of our healthcare system – they perform essential work for the well-being of people every day. In the Czech Republic, HARTMANN has been partnering the “Sestra roku” (“Care professional of the Year”) competition for almost two decades, supporting public recognition of this important medical profession. At this year's award ceremony held at the Lucerna cinema in Prague, Minister of Health Vlastimil Válek presented health care professionals with a special award for the first time. In addition, prizes were awarded in categories such as “Health care professional in direct care” and “Health care professional in social services”. Health care professionals deserve not only our respect, but also fair working conditions and the best possible support in their daily work. By supporting the competition, we are expressing our appreciation of the work they do. HARTMANN. Advancing healthcare responsibly. https://lnkd.in/dkxCDNMs

❌ Our healthcare system can no longer cope in this way. The alarm bells sounded by the Belgian hospital directors last week were hard to ignore. Their warnings echoed through nearly all national media outlets. Eric Christiaens, chairman of the Belgian Association of Hospital Managers (BAHM), highlighted three factors threatening to create the perfect storm: our ageing population, the precarious financial situation of our hospitals, and the pressing staff shortage in the sector. 🌬 The perfect storm – unless we take action. This is precisely where BAHM intends to make a difference. With a detailed whitepaper, the association invites everyone in the sector to collaborate on making the shift toward value-based healthcare. Our federation provided detailed input, as did many other sector stakeholders. 👉 Why value-based healthcare? Because that’s where the key lies: we are already investing significant resources in healthcare. What we must do now is ensure that these investments are used more effectively, creating greater value for patients, healthcare providers, and the system itself. As the medical technology sector, we can, want to, and will help in various ways. With medical technologies that enable the delivery of more and better care with the same effort. With tools that support future-oriented, patient-centric care models. And with solutions that better map the impact of what we do. #medtechmatters #valuebasedhealthcare #VBHC #healthinnovation Belg. HCD is increasingly recognized as being a valuable contributor when addressing today’s complex healthcare challenges (e.g. [5, 6].). In their editorial ‘Redesigning healthcare to fit with people’ in the British Medical Journal, Erwin and Krishnan aptly describe HCD’s added value: ‘The key is to shift our focus from helping people to fit our care delivery system, to one where we design our care delivery system to fit people where they live, work, learn, play, and receive healthcare.’ Many healthcare organizations realize that becoming more human-centered is key to dealing with today’s care challenges. However, although HCD is increasingly being adopted in healthcare practice, little has been published on what an HCD approach entails when applied to healthcare organizations. In this article, we address the three key characteristics of HCD and how they relate to the context of health care: understanding people, early and continuous stakeholder engagement and a systems approach.
