Arevon Secures $351M for 251 MW Gibson Solar Project, Bringing Clean Energy to 30,000 Homes Arevon Energy, Inc., a top renewable energy developer, owner, and operator, has secured $351 million in financing for the 251 MWdc Gibson Solar Project in Gibson County, Indiana. Now under construction, the project will create over 250 construction jobs and provide more than $83 million in payments to the local government over its lifetime. Lightsource bp and HASI Close Strategic Investment Partnership for Two Utility-Scale Solar Projects in Texas Lightsource bp has secured a structured equity investment from HASI, a leading investor in climate solutions, in a 288-megawatt solar portfolio comprised of two utility-scale projects in Texas. The projects include the 163 MW Starr Solar project located in Starr County and the 125 MW Second Division Solar project located in Brazoria County. UK company Island Green Power (IGP) has launched the public consultation process for the East Pye Solar project, located near Long Stratton in South Norfolk. IGP’s aims for the East Pye Solar project to feature a capacity of 500 MWac, with the potential to be located with a battery energy storage system. East Pye Solar will be capacity of providing enough clean power 115,000 homes per annum if built. As the generation capacity of East Pye Solar exceeds the threshold for a Nationally Significant Infrastructure Project (NSIP), IGP will need to apply for a Development Consent Order (DCO). The planning process will involve several stages of public consultation, where feedback from the community, local authorities, and other stakeholders will be considered to refine the project’s design before submission. “We are excited to bring forward these plans for East Pye Solar, which if built, will generate clean ‘home grown’ electricity for homes and businesses, supporting the national ambition to achieve net zero while securing a reliable, affordable source of electricity,” said Samantha Jones, Project Development Manager for East Pye Solar. “We are committed to developing our proposals with the local community and are pleased to launch the first stage of our consultation. The feedback we receive will help us develop our proposals so that the final designs meet the ambition for the project and deliver benefits to the local area – from enhancing the environment to providing direct funding for important causes.” The first stage of public consultation will run until 6 December 2024, with in-person events starting from 07 November at various locations around the area, including Saxlingham Nethergate, Seething, Hempnall, Great Moulton, Long Stratton, and Woodton. J.P. Morgan, Capital One provide $260 million for 300 MW Arizona PV project. US independent power producer (IPP) BrightNight has secured US$260 million in tax-equity finance from investment banks JP Morgan and Capital One, to aid in the development of a 300MW solar PV power plant in Pinal County, Arizona. The Box Canyon solar project, jointly owned by BrightNight and Canadian asset manager Cordelio Power, is expected to become operational in the first half of 2025. This will be part of a wider renewable energy portfolio in Arizona totalling 2GW. Shaping a cleaner and smarter world! I am excited that AES Indiana continues to expand its renewable energy fleet by seeking approval to acquire, construct and recover costs for the Crossvine solar plus battery storage project. The project will have 85 MW of solar capacity and 85 MW of battery power. Once operational in mid-2027, Crossvine will generate enough clean energy to power approximately 14,500 homes. This investment aligns with our commitment to providing diverse and sustainable energy solutions for our customers while supporting AES Indiana's energy transition. AES Indiana portfolio already includes Hoosier Wind in Benton County and Hardy Hills Solar in Clinton County. The three projects will generate approximately 760,000 MWh annually from solar, enough to power the equivalent of 63,000 homes when Crossvine is operational by mid-2027.
