Can you score 50% on exams with just 3 words? In the realm of education, the debate often centers on academic performance versus practical application. Recently, a curious case emerged where students scored 50% in exams simply by writing "Jai Sriram." While this raises concerns about the assessment model, it also underscores a broader issue: the disparity between theoretical knowledge and practical implementation. While excelling in exams is commendable, it's equally crucial for students to translate their learning into real-world scenarios. In fields like AI, theoretical understanding must be complemented by hands-on experience to truly grasp its potential. Simply memorizing concepts without applying them practically is akin to knowing the recipe but never cooking the dish. To address this gap, educational institutions must prioritize practical learning experiences alongside theoretical instruction. By doing so, we empower students to not only excel academically but also become adept practitioners in their chosen fields. After all, true mastery lies not just in knowing but in doing. What are your thoughts on the current education system?
Very shocking! We need to educate both students and teachers in these category.
Please also highlight the names of those star cricketers. Like you highlighted "Jai Shri Ram"? If a survey is conducted, there will be 5 to 10% students who instead of writing the answer to the question, write Bollywood songs, movie stories, Panchtantra stories. But they pass. Now is the time of elections, so this name is being highlighted. I don't know whether you have a problem with the name Jai Shri Ram or with the useless people sitting in the system.
The current education system is archaic and is being followed as a tradition without considering alternatives. If one computes the manhours lost in aspiration and making of the mind , one can know the criminal waste of time especially in the populated under developed nations. Children are on purpose made dependents when they can as a group manage many businesses. It's like 1 million waste 21 million years for just 1 of them to become a rocket scientist.
What if the teachers and govt want it's students and citizens to be with half baked knowledge so that they can be easily manipulated
It happened like the mercy order of Lord Rama! Coming to IES, I feel alike your thoughts that Yes, there’s a need to address practical learning alongside theoretical grabbing. I’ll not blame a 100% to the IES as I have seen and listened too that some schools across India drives innovation in their curriculum while also following the CBSE. That was me till now! Have a great time ahead Hasini LakshmiNarayanan!
Well said Hasini LakshmiNarayanan. Knowing is not doing. In my view, you are knowingly or unknowingly reiterating the golden quotes of #Mother #Terasa - "Helping hands are better than praying lips ". Practical knowledge is more important than just theoritical knowledge so that the ground level difficulities can be addressed in appropiate manner with the help of hands on experience.
In Indian Education System, we lost both EDUCATION as well as SYSTEM. RIP
This news is an insult to the education sector. This activity is disappointing among the students. It also affects the quality of education.
Fascinating discussion on the balance between academic assessments and practical skills—definitely a wake-up call for educational systems to integrate more real-world applications into their curricula.

8moIt's not about the educational system, it's the reflection of the society who had been entirely manipulated based on majoritarian faith & beliefs.
