Deadstock - Sustainable solutions for fashion Deadstock, also known as leftover fabric, is fabric that has not been used in production, either due to manufacturing errors, design changes, or simply because the fabric is in stock and not consumed. Every year, about 16 million tons of fabric is wasted, many of which end up in landfills. Using deadstock fabrics helps reduce environmental pollution from burning or burying fabrics. Designers can save on production costs by using leftover fabric instead of buying new materials. Products made from deadstock fabrics often have unique designs thanks to the combination of many different patterns. Many brands such as Christy Dawn and Tonlé have committed to using deadstock fabrics in their production. Deadstock fabrics encourage creativity in fashion design, resulting in artistic products. Despite the many benefits, using deadstock fabrics also faces some challenges in ensuring quality. This is not just a temporary trend but an important part of a sustainable development strategy for the future. By taking advantage of the resources that already exist, the fashion industry can reduce its environmental impact and create products that are more valuable to consumers. #deadstock #fashion #fabric #sustainablesolution #vishimex

🌿 From Forest to Fabric: The Journey of Beechwood Modal 🌿 Ever wondered how that silky smooth, eco-friendly fabric in your favorite outfit is made? Let's take a journey through the fascinating process of creating Beechwood Modal fabric! 1.Harvesting 🌳 1.It starts in sustainable forests where beech trees are responsibly harvested, ensuring the environment is cared for and trees are replanted. 2.Pulp Production 🌿 1.The beechwood is chipped into small pieces and transformed into pulp using a water-based chemical process. This pulp is the base for our luxurious fabric. 3.Fiber Creation 🧵 1.The pulp is dissolved into a thick & sticky solution and extruded through spinnerets, forming long, smooth fibers. 4.Spinning 🔄 1.These fibers are spun into yarn, stretched, and twisted to enhance strength and create a texture that's soft to the touch. 5.Weaving or Knitting ✂️ 1.The yarn is woven or knitted into fabric, depending on the final product's design. This is where creativity meets craftsmanship. 6.Finishing 🎨 1.The fabric undergoes dyeing, washing, and special treatments to ensure it’s not only beautiful but also durable and comfortable. Why choose Beechwood Modal? It's not just about the incredible softness and breathability. This fabric is a testament to sustainable innovation in the textile industry, ensuring you look good while doing good for the planet. 🌍💚 #SustainableFashion #TextileInnovation #EcoFriendly #BeechwoodModal #FashionForward

🔍 Understanding Fabric Durability: What Makes a Fabric Last Longer? 🔍 When it comes to textiles, one of the most important factors is durability. Whether it's clothing, upholstery, or industrial fabrics, customers expect their materials to last. But what exactly determines how durable a fabric is? Let’s break it down: 🧵 Fiber Strength: Fabrics like denim and nylon are known for their strong fibers, making them resistant to wear and tear. This is why they are perfect for jeans, workwear, and heavy-duty applications. 🚿 Care and Maintenance: Durability isn’t just about the fabric itself—it’s also how it’s cared for. Machine-washable, stain-resistant, and easy-to-clean fabrics like polyester blends extend the life of garments and textiles. 🌿 Sustainability Meets Strength: With advances in technology, many eco-friendly fabrics like recycled polyester and organic cotton are now just as durable as their conventional counterparts. The best part? They reduce environmental impact without compromising on quality. 💪 Weave and Construction: The way a fabric is woven or knit plays a huge role in its durability. Tightly woven fabrics are more resistant to snagging and pilling, ensuring they look great after many uses. 🎯 Why It Matters: Durability isn’t just a feature—it’s a promise to your customers that their investment in your products will last. Whether you’re designing high-end fashion, activewear, or home textiles, choosing the right durable fabrics is key. Let’s connect if you're looking for durable, high-quality fabrics that stand the test of time. Together, we can ensure your products not only look great but last longer! #DurableFabrics #TextileInnovation #SustainableTextiles #FabricSolutions #LongLastingFashion © Shahariar Khalid

The first thing that comes to mind when you hear the word “dead”, usually isn’t anything good. So when I first learned about “deadstock” fabrics I thought the fabric was bad or unfit for use. Little did I know, that it’s simply fabric that is unused, surplus textiles materials that have been left over from previous textile production runs or discontinued stock from fabric manufacturers or fashion brands. These fabrics often languish in warehouses collecting dust, and are at risk of being discarded as waste. As a sustainable fashion designer, I am committed to using all the regular and deadstock fabric I have before I purchase eco-friendly or sustainable fabrics. 👗🌸🧵🪡 #sustainablefashion #LASHA #deadstock #fabric #fashion #edgy #slowfashion #ethicalfashion #handmade #sustainability #repeatoutfits #style #sustainableliving #smallquantities #recycled #zerowaste #upcycle #reducewaste #madelocally #shoplocal #ethical #ecofriendly #fairwages #smallbusiness #Memphis #NewYork #LosAngeles #London #Paris #fashionrevolution #savetheplanet #trees #plants #purpose #somethinggood #dontdestroytheplanet #beyou

What is Bonded Leather? 🤔 Bonded leather is a man-made material crafted from leftover leather scraps and fibers bonded together using polyurethane or latex onto a fiber sheet. While it gives the appearance of genuine leather, it’s important to note that bonded leather is different in terms of quality and durability. 👜 How is it Made? 🛠️ The process involves grinding down leather waste, blending it with a bonding agent, and pressing it into a leather-like material. Bonded leather may contain only 10-20% actual leather content, which is why it’s more affordable than genuine leather. 💡 Advantages of Bonded Leather: ✔️ Cost-Effective: Bonded leather is more budget-friendly compared to full-grain or top-grain leather. ✔️ Eco-Friendly: It’s made using leather scraps, reducing waste and promoting sustainability. ✔️ Versatile: Available in a variety of colors and textures, making it suitable for furniture, bags, and fashion accessories. Disadvantages of Bonded Leather: ❌ Durability: It tends to wear out and peel over time, especially in high-use items like furniture or bags. ❌ Less Breathability: Bonded leather doesn’t have the same breathability or aging properties as real leather. For brands and manufacturers in the leather goods industry, understanding the difference between bonded leather and genuine leather is essential for quality control and product offerings. If you’re a brand looking to explore different leather types, it’s important to know when bonded leather may or may not be the right choice. 📈 Have questions about leather types or need help sourcing high-quality genuine leather for your brand?
