You know it's important when you agree to work on a Saturday. 🌈 The Blue Venture Builder-Hawai'i program kicked off this week and Phase 1 ends today in Kona at NELHA 's HOST Park campus. It has been three days of working fast to get to know one another, understanding some of the industry's challenges and figuring out how these dedicated, talented, and extremely knowledgable individuals can work together to build something that will help solve a blue problem while sustaining the health of the world's ocean. 🌺 Special thank you to the local mentors who took time out of their day to lend an ear and advise the participants on their particular area of expertise: 🔵 Ken Hoyle from Hawai'i's Small Business Development Corporation 🔵 Bill Bryant of Threshold Ventures 🔵 Laurence Sombardier from NELHA 🔵 Harvey Stone of Koi Pond Group 🔵 Neil Anthony Sims of Ocean Era 🔵 Dick Jones and Federico Rotman from Blue Ocean Mariculture 🔵 Alexia Akbay, Kalei and Ben from Symbrosia 🔵 Brenda Asuncion from Kua'aina Ulu 'Auamo - an organization helping to coordinate the reinvigoration of Hawai'i's Loko I'a (aquaculture fish ponds) 🔵 Michael T. Pfeffer 🔵 Nym Raske 🔵 and Oscar Hennig from The Center for Aquaculture Technologies (CAT) 🔵 🐟 🦐 🌊 Phase II will be in Oahu to continue building. The foundation is set!
