Back then, blockchain was known and discussed but far from mainstream reality, not even in sophisticated financial institutions like the top asset managers in the world. Fast forward, and today we’re witnessing Ripple and Archax launching the first #tokenized money market fund on the #XRP Ledger, managed by #abrdn. 🏦💥 This is not just another milestone for #blockchain; it’s a game-changer for the financial sector. Through the tokenization of the Fund, BUIDL will offer investors important benefits by enabling the issuance and trading of ownership on a blockchain, expanding investor access to on-chain offerings, providing instantaneous and transparent settlement, and allowing for transfers across platforms. "Franklin Templeton is enabling peer-to-peer transfers in its on-chain U.S.-registered mutual fund while Archax, the UK FCA-regulated institutional digital asset exchange, broker and custodian, has added BlackRock to its tokenized money market fund offerings. On 25 April 2024 Franklin Templeton said in a statement that it is introducing new features to the first U.S.-registered mutual fund to process transactions and record share ownership on a public blockchain, which it launched in 2021.
