Fun interview! Palmer Luckey def likes the same cool geeky things the rest of us out of the box thinkers like! It's probably why we have some of the same investors. ;) DreamHammer is also a native Southern California company. Maybe this innovation comes from a gamer, SoCal mindset. I worked for the Defense Department as a GS civilian that managed ACAT 1 programs, so I knew from the inside the issues with the DoD's acquisition process and its inability to acquire innovative, commercial tech and get it to the battlefield. Palmer had some interesting points I agree with on how the defense department and venture backed tech have not worked well together like they did in the past and shunned commercial tech innovation until more recent wars have proven our advocacy for commercially developed tech correct. I remember getting a call from a Navy Admiral in 2014 apologizing to me that there were no programmatic requirements in the US Navy for this type of drone innovation, even though they needed it badly and wanted to field it. In other words, there was no way to buy it! The Pentagon themselves pushed hard to help advocate funded requirements for innovative technology by spending millions demonstrating of our technology with major drone systems across all the armed services as well as with Defense Industry leaders such as Lockheed Martin, General Atomics, Boeing and Northrop Grumman and US Congress. The brilliant leader Lt. Gen David A. Deptula (ret.), ISR Chief of USAF at the time, saw the need immediately but the Air Force at the time was too busy focusing on remotely piloted aircraft, rather than swarms of autonomous drones controlled by single operators that could overwhelm enemy defenses or collect ISR extremely cost effectively. Well this type of Drone tech is winning battles in wars today but it didn't come from America. DreamHammer spent millions of dollars of its profit to create its commercial drone software tech that enabled the Pentagon and the defense industry to break silo's so any/all their autonomous systems can work together. Today they call this Joint All Domain Command and Control. Even though it has taken more than 10 years, I am happy the DoD is finally moving in the right direction in its thinking about autonomous systems with commercial innovation and DreamHammer is excited to be working with the U.S. Defense Department to help give them the competitive edge they need for the future. Congrats to Anduril Industries and Peter Thiel for their work in helping to move the needle forward and joining the fight!

So I just found out that Trump's second assassin actually used an SKS rifle, which was a bit shocking because if you want old school reliability for hitting long targets, you'd probably want to instead use a Mauser made either by Germany or former Yugoslavia. SKS rifles are great vintage semiautomatic rifles that were used to transition the Soviet military at the end of WW2 since they still used the outdated mosin nagants at the time, which were still in action, but horrible for urban and rural warfare. The SKS rifle was the precursor to the AK47 for the Soviets and essentially their version of the U.S. M1 Garand rifle too. Also, the assassin used an aftermarket magazine to make the rifle carry a 30 round capacity, rather than usual 10 rounds that use basic stripper clips. The aftermarket magazines for the SKS are usually not the most reliable, particularly not a wise choice if one is going into battle, etc. The SKS is a basic reliable rifle that's meant to easily work with 10 rounds that can be reloaded in a quick fashion with stripper clips or even just manually (used effectively in the Vietnam War by N.Vietnamese and elsewhere). So...my response to the use of the SKS tells me that this guy either didn't know what he was doing or just not quite right in the head, which a lot of evidence concerning his actions and behaviors in the last couple of years would point out. 🤔🤔🤔🤔 https://lnkd.in/ggajYXh7

Here is the full move sequence with annotations: 1.e4 d5 2.Nf3 dxe4 3.Ng5 Qd5 4.d3 exd3 5.Bxd3 Qxg2 6.Be4 Qg4 7.Qxg4 Bxg4 8.Bxb7 In this variation: White sacrifices a pawn to rapidly develop pieces and gain attacking chances against Black's position. Ng5 is a sharp move aiming for quick tactics, particularly targeting the f7 square. d3 is a way to open lines and regain the pawn on e4. After 5... Qxg2, Black grabs another pawn but risks falling behind in development. White's 6. Be4 and subsequent moves target the g4 square and seek to exchange queens to capitalize on rapid development and open lines. 𝗖𝗿𝗮𝘇𝘆 (𝗔𝗻𝗱 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴) 𝗟𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗕𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝟮 𝗞𝗻𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀 𝗗𝗲𝗳𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗲 Studying 𝗰𝗵𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀 can be very exciting but it can also get overwhelming. And part of improving is 𝘨𝘦𝘵𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘰𝘶𝘵𝘴𝘪𝘥𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘵 𝘻𝘰𝘯𝘦, at least from time to time. When it comes to openings, that means checking new lines to make your opening repertoire complete and diverse. To implement this myself, I decided to study an opening line that I would normally not play. The line that I studied is the 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝘅𝗹𝗲𝗿 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗮𝗰𝗸 (named after Karel Traxler) in the Two Knights Defense. In this line, Black allows White to capture on f7 not with one, but 2 pieces. Although this line might look suicidal at first sight, while I studied the variations, I discovered a lot of subtleties that I even consider this line as 𝗳𝗮𝗶𝗿𝗹𝘆 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝘆𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲. Now, I might not recommend this line for every game (I still recommend my "Complete Opening Repertoire for Black"), as some lines can rely too much on too many minor details, but this can be a great variation to add to 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘱𝘭𝘦𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘳𝘦𝘨𝘶𝘭𝘢𝘳 𝘳𝘦𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘵𝘰𝘪𝘳𝘦.
