Updated multimodal freight network map published A draft of the National Multimodal Freight Network (NMFN) map was published earlier this month by the U.S. Department of Transportation. To promote intermodal connectivity, the interactive draft NMFM includes approximately 175 thousand miles of highways, railways and waterways, as well as 140 seaports and 65 airports. This project is a continuation from past administrations. ❗ Czechs and Slovaks together again, at least on the railway tracks ❗ ŽESNAD (Czech Association of Rail Freight operators) has joined forces with its Slovak counterpart AROS and wagon keepers associations (SPV and ZVKV) to make their voices heard in Brussels. We want our comments to be taken into account in the further development of the #DAC digital automatic coupling as part of the future of European rail freight transport. Together with ERFA-European Rail Freight Association we want the railway capacity management to move from a national, manual and rigid system to an international, digital and flexible system. A major study of the development of rail freight in the industrial and agricultural sectors in #France has concluded that there is the potential for strong growth for both conventional and combined road-rail traffic over the next decade. The study was commissioned by the #French shippers association AUTF - Association des Utilisateurs de Transport de Fret and public transport industry body UTPF - Union des Transports Publics et Ferroviaires, whose members include Groupe SNCF, and carried out by management consultancy, MENSIA Conseil. #railfreight #railfreightnews #railcargonews

The unique incentive has been introduced to encourage road to rail transition, and has been recognised this year by Rail Freight Group as instrumental in influencing positive impact behavioural change. From the 1st October, the MSP incentive will be adjusted to £70 per import laden container.
