📢 Today marks the start of #16DaysofActivism to eliminate gender-based violence (GBV). This year’s theme is “Every 10 minutes, a woman is killed. #NoExcuse. UNiTE to End Violence against Women.” Canada is steadfast in its commitment to end gender-based violence. From championing the Elimination of Violence Against Women resolution at the United Nations Human Rights Council to being a top bilateral donor in global funding initiatives, addressing gender-based violence is a top priority for Canada. 🇨🇦 During #16Days, we at #CanadaHouse raise our voices, stand with survivors, and work with local partners to end GBV 💪.
