Together, they care for over 80,000 patients annually.   We look forward to partnering with Rehaneo as it embarks on its next phase of growth!

The article highlights a study on the implementation of community physiotherapy in primary care. The Community Physiotherapist model introduced in primary care aims to provide appropriate, safe and effective interventions. Sharing the project with all health professionals helped support it's appropriateness and effectiveness. However, fully implementing this new model will take time to establish across the system. Running a physiotherapy clinic can be quite challenging. It's a path filled with ups and downs, where we learn and grow with every experience. One of the biggest challenges is ensuring that our practice is ethical, without relying on referrals from other healthcare providers, and staying true to the evidence-based model. We win some and we lose some, but nothing beats the motivation I feel when I witness the positive results in my patients. It's truly satisfying to know that I'm doing the right thing, or at least doing what I believe is right. #beingsavant #physiotherapists

It is 5 years since the AARS funding model was introduced and most Primary Care Networks now have their Additional Roles in place. But there appears to be a reluctance to add First Contact Physiotherapy to the ranks, as some of the other roles are seen as more ‘specialised’. However, this couldn’t be further from the truth. Physiotherapists are highly specialised in Musculoskeletal disorders and conditions and can relieve GPs of up to 30% of their caseload. Because of this, it is estimated that the NHS is spending £12m per day on patients that they cannot treat properly. That means the annual cost is in excess of £2.5bn. So why would you not want to have such a powerful and cost-effective tool in your kit? The Primary Care Networks that are embracing the need for Physiotherapists are seeing their waiting lists reduce and patient satisfaction increase as more people can follow the correct pathway for their condition. Those that are not find that there is a caseload of 30% that they are only helping manage the pain, but unable to treat their condition. And, their lists are not getting any smaller.
