Hospital Bukit Mertajam: Leading the Way Towards Sustainable Healthcare Hospital Bukit Mertajam (HBM), a pioneering institution with a rich history of 134 years, has reaffirmed its commitment to environmental sustainability at the **International Scientific Conference on Climate Change and Health** and the **6th Asia-Pacific Green Health Care System Conference** in Hai Phong, Vietnam. The event brought together healthcare systems, hospitals, and climate activists to explore solutions for sustainable, climate-resilient healthcare. HBM's digital presentation, titled "Sustainable Health Care: Hospital Bukit Mertajam's Path Towards Net Zero Carbon Emission,"showcased impressive achievements in its environmental initiatives. The hospital has successfully reduced carbon emissions by 1,000.36 tons of CO₂ and saved over 3 million kWh of energy from 2019 to 2023. These efforts contribute to the hospital's commitment to achieving net zero carbon emissions by 2050,in alignment with the mission of Health Care Without Harm(HCWH) to drive global transformation towards eco-friendly healthcare.
