One ship sails East, And another West, By the self-same winds that blow, 'Tis the set of the sails And not the gales, That tells the way we go. I first came across this verse by Ella Wheeler Wilcox, in Margaret Thatcher's biography over a decade ago and nothing has ever resonated with me more! Overwhelmed by the number of work anniversary wishes that I have received on the completion of 3 years at DRIIV, I take this opportune moment to reflect on the dynamic S&T ecosystem that we have successfully created. From having to explain the concept of a 'cluster' to all and sundry, to being a well regarded brand as a knowledge hub, bringing industry-academia-government bodies on a single platform, has been quite an eventful ride. As we begin the next phase of our journey hereon, our targets for the coming 3 years are pretty clear: 1. To establish a value chain comprising of MSMEs and startups for indigenising the production of dual use technologies in critical and emerging domains (#semiconductors, #aviation, #defence) 2. To attract more private capital for supporting translational research in our chosen thematic areas (#environmentalsustainability, #cleanenergytransition, #deeptech) 3. To strengthen transnational collaboration in S&T via more joint innovation projects.
