Half of the live trading period has now come to a close, with only another half to go! To be honest, checking the leaderboard ritual has been one of the most addictive things I have ever done! I'm keeping my finger crossed that team ω4 can hold its leading position until the very end. A massive shoutout to MLAI Aus for organizing this hackathon, and a thank you to my incredible teammates, Peter (Chenyang) Wang, Sadiah Zahoor, Grant Fullston and Raj Pulapakura. This competition has been nothing short of unforgettable, and I've grown immensely from the experience. The first half of the hackathon, our team dived into our experimentation. My focus was on various financial trading strategies, from simple moving averages to Bollinger bands. It was a process of parameter fine-tuning, beginning with my own binary search-inspired approach and eventually progressing to Tree-structured Parzen Estimator. And again, a special thanks to my teammates for their EDA efforts and insightful advice here. You can find link to my work in the comment. In the final week, our team successfully developed the loss function and shifted our focus on the Machine Learning approach. We went berserk with data engineer and architecture experimentation which lead us to the position we are now. Stay tuned for our team's complete work as we will be sharing it soon.

And that’s a wrap for the MLAI Aus Green Battery Hack 🔋! Well, actually today was the final submission day, but our algorithm is going to trade on the market for the next two weeks, and then it’ll be really over. The competition was essentially to build an AI model which controls a simulated battery that trades in the electricity spot market. For my first hackathon, I think this went really well. Shoutout to my awesome teamates Peter (Chenyang) Wang, Grant Fullston, Sadiah Zahoor and Alan Huynh. See you guys at Pitch Night!
