📢 We're talking about HE - RATION ! The coordinator of HE - RATION had the opportunity to present the project at a workshop on the rational use of pesticides organised by Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology (IMBB) in Crete on April 22nd. Below, the programme and other projects presented during the workshop.

✨ How can a 2 year old company have more than 20 years of experience? Thanks to the knowledge transfer that takes place in a #spinoff like #Madeinplant. More than 20 years of research by 3 groups at the Instituto de Biología Molecular y Celular de Plantas, IBMCP (UPV - CSIC) on plant biotechnology, synthetic biology, plant viruses and molecular farming have led to the creation of a company combining this knowledge to generate a value proposition. This allows us to incorporate the principles of synthetic biology #Synbio into the design of innovative agronomic products to find the best solution for you. 🧬 Biotechnological support for your gene editing endeavour #NGTs

What LPMOs, MMOs, P450 and UPOs oxidases have in common? Is that they might boost the new rising environmental biorefinery sector! Apparently each of this enzyme has a specialized field or some even mono thematic conferences, with labs dedicated to only one or maybe two of them all around the world. Still researchers belonging to one or the other enzymatic field don't really "talk" to each other. We believe that cross-communication among them might be key to cover the last mile to their full biotech applications. Together with Davide Decembrino we reviewed the fundamental biochemistry and biology of these redox enzymes now published from Biotechnology Advances Journal, hoping to create a common ground where researchers from one field could find solution already described from another. Below the link to the article, have a nice reading! https://lnkd.in/eykBzrHk

Cells are divided into two major classes, those with a nucleus and those without. The earliest life on Earth were single-celled prokaryotic organisms, which contained no nucleus. In our new display about the origins of life you can see this large glass model of a prokaryotic E. coli cell. The work of S.N. Cohen and H. Boyer in E. coli, which used plasmids and restriction enzymes to create recombinant DNA, became a foundation of biotechnology.

This Semester, I made a scientifc poster for one of my undergraduate courses, "Microbial Biotechnology". My topic was: Genomic Organization of Some Specialized Bacteria with Complex Genome I was not able to explore all the sections in this poster but I tried to give a short insight on the topic. #microbialbiotechnology #microbes #biotechnology
