#GroundsWeek, now in its fourth year, looks to raise awareness and recognise the work of grounds care volunteers and professionals in the UK, with a focus on inspiring new recruits to consider a career in the industry. Research carried out by the GMA, highlights that the industry is in need of new recruits to join the sector. Currently, 40% of the workforce is over 50 years-old and, without an influx of new recruits, this could result in a significant employment gap within 5 years. Sport simply could not take place without the contribution of grounds management and, without quality grass pitches, not only will our nation’s health and local communities suffer, but so will our talent offering when it comes to professional teams and leagues. We know that, if we improved existing grass pitches, almost 1,400,000 (1,376,252) more children could play rugby or football every week and 489,859 more could play cricket every season. That means 4,000,000 more children’s football matches could happen every year on existing pitches – this is why #GroundsWeek and encouraging more people to join the sector is so important. Activity and events taking place over the week are all aimed at introducing new people to the industry and improving the provision of grass pitches, so keep an eye on the #GroundsWeek webpage for information about the events when they’re announced. If you have any questions regarding #GroundsWeek and how you can get involved, please get in touch with us at communications@thegma.org.uk. Sign up for more information on #GroundsWeek and GMA activity by clicking here.

As #socialsaturday rolls around, I'm gearing up for a weekend filled with the perfect blend of sports and creativity. With the #PremierLeague in full swing, I'm eagerly anticipating catching up on the latest matches, cheering on my favorite team Chelsea Football Club, and immersing myself in the electrifying atmosphere of football fandom. But that's not all. As a passionate advocate for the construction industry, I'm also carving out time to indulge in some captivating construction documentaries. One particular highlight on my watchlist? The ongoing Everton Football Club new stadium videos. As a fan of both football and architecture, I'm fascinated by the intricacies of the stadium design and the innovative solutions employed in creating state-of-the-art sporting venues. So, picture me settled in for a weekend of excitement and inspiration, switching between the thrill of the #PremierLeague action and the awe-inspiring world of construction innovation. It's the perfect balance of entertainment and education, providing a refreshing break from the hustle and bustle of the workweek. #Theproqs Obiageri Juliet Asogu, MNIQS, I hope you are also having a great #socialsaturday relaxing from the workweek stress As I connect with fellow creators and enthusiasts, I invite you to join me in celebrating the things that bring us joy and inspiration. Whether it's sports, documentaries, or any other passion that fuels your creativity, let's embrace #socialsaturday as an opportunity to connect, share, and uplift one another. Join the conversation by following #20dayslinkedinchallengewiththeproqs #socialsaturday #premierleague #constructiondocumentaries #footballfans, and let's make this weekend one to remember!

Vently is becoming the Go-to platform for communities, groups, & clubs to organize, communicate, and engage with their community. Here's why 👇 - Run Clubs are all about community, but how do hosts and clubs engage with their communities? Eventbrite? Meetup? Partiful? These platforms don't adhere to or accommodate social clubs. - We bridge the gap from event - to community. Enabling the “next step” for communities to engage and grow. In addition to enabling hosts and guests to manage attendees, send invites, communicate with guests, Vently enables communities to grow, engage, collaborate, and organize within their groups. - Many platforms are “one stop” platforms as we call them. Click-Rsvp-Click out. Not fostering of the culture communities have already created. Enabling communities to open themselves to new members, leverage guest networks with shareable links, and bridge a closer experience is what sets Vently apart. - We are built by communities, for communities.

Spending time together outside of the Office is something we all really enjoy, and it encourages us to be a stronger team. You can learn so much more about someone when you are in their physical presence, and you take the time to listen to their experience and perspective. Whether that be, doing a fun activity or simply over a refreshing drink! We pride ourselves on the relationship management we have with our clients, and we also practice what we preach with our wonderful staff. Getting to know the other person across the table is part of the job (and one of the best parts). Financial Planning is not just 'numbers and growth charts', and running a business is not just 'clocking in and clocking out'! #relationshipbuilding #financialplanning #teambuilding #bestteamever
Passionate Business Manager, with expertise in Project Management, Organisation Structural Development, Process Development, Change Management and Coaching
We have a couple of Presentations coming up and I have been looking through Staff Photos from some of our wonderful Socials. Found this one from GoApe in my first week of joining, and it gave me time to reflect on the importance of socialising outside of work. Not only do we go for after work drinks and have the usual Xmas party, we also have Poker and Pizza Night, Bingo Night, Bowling, Scavenger Hunts all around London (still disputing who won!) and dinners together. To celebrate our 25th Year in Business this year, we are spending the night at a Manor House dressing up for a Murder Mystery Evening and ending the night on the dancefloor. There may be a few sore heads at breakfast the next morning! Staff Socials are one of my favourite ways to get to know the Staff, and unwind with my team away from the Office. It also gives the staff a chance to see my (very small) competitive side! What do you do for Staff Socials? #teamsocial #teamworkmakesthedreamwork #financialplanning #enjoywhatyoudo

I’m no runner, 🏃but I almost became one because of a community I found. Do you know the The Running Room ? They are for serious runners who sell running shoes and equipment but also sell so much more than that. Community. I almost did become a runner because of the community I found there. All I wanted was to buy a pair of runners for when I travel. You know, make travelling easier and comfier. Not for running, but somehow they made me feel like I was missing out. The Running Room is a perfect example of how businesses can create communities that are for all of us. Even when we don’t think we belong, they can open up our minds to consider belonging because of how welcoming and accommodating their community is. Have you ever had an experience like that? Where you went into a business and found a community? If so, let me know! #community #belonging #clientexperience #businessowners #businessidea

Joe Skinner interviewed me a couple months back to gain a better understanding of our Together an Active Future journey and #OutdoorTown vision. I thought we were just having a little work chat so wasn’t quite prepared when he pulled out his recording device, but Joe is an absolute pro and natural when it comes to interviewing! I was immediately put at ease by his genuine passion for creating accessible, inclusive spaces for physical activity. It was great to see how he could connect with the vision and see the positive impact #OutdoorTown aims to make (and is making) for Burnley. Joe then created this blog piece on reframing our approach to physical activity, so do give it a read - https://lnkd.in/eSpXmpHN If you haven’t already, take a look and have a nosey around the OutdoorTown webpage too. The site aims to provide a one stop place about all things outdoors in our borough; encouraging a self-led, sustainable approach to promoting both the place and physical activity. Often, we view physical activity as something rigid or obligatory, but the #OutdoorTown approach shifts the focus, as we aim for Burnley to be a place where the choice to be active is easy, attractive and enjoyable. Thanks again to Joe for the blog. His focus on making movement accessible, enjoyable, and inclusive for everyone is invaluable to all of us. Looking forward to seeing how your ideas shape more inclusive spaces for active living and the #OutdoorTown vision moving forward. SIDE NOTE: OutdoorTown.uk is still very much in its infancy (official launch April 2025). We are working with partners to continually develop the website so please reach out if you want to contribute to these developments or find out more about the #OutdoorTown vision. #OutdoorTown #Strengthsbased #Placebased
