This holiday season, First Climate is embracing the spirit of giving over gifting. 💚 Instead of sending corporate gifts, First Climate is proud to support Associação Mico-Leão-Dourado (AMLD) as part of our annual “Giving Over Gifting” campaign. Our 2024 Christmas donation will help protect the endangered golden lion tamarin and its home — the Brazilian Atlantic Rainforest. 🌳 🐒 🌴 AMLD works tirelessly to restore rainforest habitats, create wildlife corridors, monitor invasive species, and run vaccination campaigns to protect these remarkable primates. Their efforts have already helped grow the wild tamarin population from just 200 in the 1970s to around 4,800 today. By supporting AMLD, we’re not just protecting wildlife — we’re contributing to local communities and global climate action. Dear Friends, Monarch butterflies have truly stolen my heart. There’s something special about their charisma—it draws people in, sparking curiosity and building connections, especially for kids, to the natural world. Monarchs serve as an umbrella species, helping us recognize the beauty and importance of all insects and their vital role in our planet’s health. When we care for monarchs, we care for so much more. Healthy monarch habitats mean healthier soils, cleaner water, thriving plant and animal life, and the pollination of crops that sustain us. That’s why I’m a proud supporter of the Monarch Joint Venture (MJV). Sadly, monarch populations—both in the eastern and western regions—have plummeted over the past 20 years, and they are now listed as threatened under the Endangered Species Act. Their incredible migration to Mexico, one of nature’s greatest wonders, is at risk. The Monarch Joint Venture is the leading resource for monarch conservation in the U.S., coordinating efforts among 200+ partner organizations- including agencies, NGOs, farming groups, and businesses. On our run up to £1bn in charity pledges, who better to hear from this Earth Day than our partners at World Land Trust? They’ve told us that… “Gifts in Wills pledged through Farewill give us huge encouragement for the future of species and habitats worldwide. World Land Trust is working globally with more project partners than ever before to urgently protect and restore wild land. We are delighted that through Farewill we can help our supporters write their wills while achieving an incredible impact for the natural world.” We’ve partnered with World Land Trust since 2020, as the power behind their legacy giving campaigns. It’s fantastic to hear about the brilliant work they’re doing. Together with their overseas project partners, World Land Trust has been instrumental in the purchase and protection of tropical forest and other threatened habitats, ensuring that more than four million acres of land is managed under active protection worldwide. They’ve established wildlife corridors as safe havens for the Asian Elephant, Tiger, Orang-utan and many other species. And they’ve empowered local people working with 30 conservation NGOs across the world, to help fund land purchase, wildlife reserve management, and rangers’ salaries. From sharing skills and experience to influencing governments, they’re protecting the environment and the many lives and species that depend on it. At Farewill, we’re highlighting the effect that leaving a gift in your will can have. We partner with charities across the UK and together, we’ve raised nearly £1bn in pledged donations.
