A huge thank you to the Gorey community and everyone who participated in the pool doubles knockout tournament over the weekend, in aid of Headway Jersey! 💙 Due to the extreme weather conditions the annual Gorey Christmas pétanque competition sadly couldn’t go ahead, however with a bit of quick thinking and teamwork, the wonderful organisers came up with a pool doubles knockout tournament instead! 👏 Thank you to Paul Sims Self-Storage Business Manager at Le Gallais Self Storage for coordinating the event and ensuring that fundraising was still possible despite the challenging weather. 12 teams participated and in keeping with tradition, bad puns for team names were the order of the day. Team names included “Boule Jingles”, “Boule Aid” and “Jingle Boules”. Congratulations to the tournament winners “Missathrow & Whine”. 🏆 Thanks to all for their generosity and support. An incredible £725 was raised for Headway Jersey! 🙌💙 A special thanks goes to Le Gallais Self Storage and The Pembroke for their contribution to the raffle prizes. 👏 #HeadwayJersey #ChristmasFundraiser #Gorey #PoolTournament

The boys are on tour, but we need your support Due to their footballing journeys so far one thing the lads have never had the opportunity to do is a tournament away. In their last year of junior grassroots football we'd love them to experience this and in the famous Blackpool! Please support us in making this happen and getting the boys to Blackpool Any donation is greatly appreciated https://lnkd.in/ecaVNvCr

2024 Christmas Hamper Appeal at Newton Abbot Rugby Club. 🎁 As you are all most likely aware, living costs have not improved for anyone over the last few years. For those already on the cusp of survival, the latest inflation hikes mean simply putting food on the table to survive is not getting any easier. Some have to make the decision between Food or Heating the house. Parents are not eating, so their children can, and families eat once or twice a day instead of three times because they simply can not afford to put the food on the table. We will not fix the problem overnight or combat child poverty with a Christmas Hamper, but we can make Christmas a little easier for those families who do not deserve the hardship they find themselves in. ❤️ We will look to supply 150 Hampers, that's around 600 people, over the Christmas period. CAN YOU HELP? 🙏 There are many families and individuals that find themselves in a much better position than those that qualify for a hamper this year. Each of the hampers the Rugby Club supply will cost around £30, but not without the help of our own Commercial Partners providing products either much cheaper than retail price or free of charge, which we are incredibly grateful for. Here's how you can help: 🎅 1. Share this post far and wide. 2. Donate whatever you can afford - https://buff.ly/3OIONTl 3. Buy a box or two. By donating £30, you will supply a Hamper for another family. We will look to raise £4000 pounds, and any extra will go back into the pot for next year's community projects. Donate Here - https://buff.ly/3OIONTl Would you benefit from a Christmas Hamper? Like our previous Christmas Hamper Appeals, We offer a "No Questions Asked" basis to put your name down for a Christmas Hamper. All we require you to do is email onecommunity@narfc.co.uk to qualify. Good Works
It’s been a week and we’re not done yet. We’re usually head down, tail up as it were, doing what we do. Anything else is money / effort is wasted in helping those who come to us. But sometimes we’re need a lifter; a reminder…. So on Monday #federalgolfclub hosted the 2nd #sleepingrough golf tournament. Federal’s Golf Pro #mattmillar had brought it all together these past months. 140 played and over 160 attended the fundraising auction…. We also showed a video of Matt experiencing some of our front line services a few weeks back. A 20 hour day for some of my team and others at Vinnies, but to know the room was full of people, gave us a rare lift in person on behalf of all of us. Thank you.💕

Truly a test of my coaching skills😂
Last week, it was football. This week, staff and students played netball in preparation for a charity tournament in a couple of weeks! There were many fouls and mistakes (all by the boys), but by the end, I think we started to make some progress—top work coaching this rabble by Solent 1st team netballer Willow Barna (patience of a saint - staff are definitely the worst students 🤣).

Please take a moment to read the post below, and if you can, donate to help and support this cause
This is my son Ben, Ben sadly lost his life in july 2022 whilst on holiday with his family This left all who new him devastated and empty. As a family we decided to raise money for the local rugby Leigh East the team Ben played for to allow all 14 years old's thru to and including open age to get heart screening which helped detect some abnormalities and saved other families go thru the same devastating loss as ourselves. Bens uncle and his friends are this year doing a grueling challenge to help raise money to do the same for Bens cousins team and other at the Golborne Parkside arlfc club. If any of my contacts would like to donate it would be really appreciated ,we are trying our best to detect heart abnormalities for the people who love playing the sport of rugby
Help raise £10000 to the Ben Woods Memorial Challenge. This will fund a heart screening event, hosted by CRY, at our local rugby league club Golborne Parkside.
