CALL FOR STATE APPLICATIONS | After decades of a worsening drug overdose crisis, primarily driven by opioids, recent national data show a reduction of over 10 percent in overdose deaths. This positive trend provides state policymakers and Medicaid programs with an opportunity to address inequities in substance use disorder (SUD) care and strengthen SUD care systems. All states and U.S. territories can apply for this 12-month learning collaborative that will support up to four teams with planning, developing, or refining SUD-related policies that promote equitable prevention, treatment, or recovery supports.
