I had a great time at Becker's Healthcare's 14th Annual Meeting in Chicago this week. Thank you to those who attended my presentation where I shared nine innovative ways to engage employees that you can apply at your own company: 9 INITIATIVES TO ENGAGE EMPLOYEES 1. Culture Champions: A group of employees representing areas from across Children's Healthcare of Atlanta—from physicians to nurses to support roles—that meet monthly with me to raise and resolve challenges and identify opportunities to build upon our organization's culture. 2. Leader Lean In: Members of the Executive Team "buddy up" with clinical areas to spend time listening to and shadowing frontline caregivers—providing them an opportunity to showcase their work and allowing ET members to understand some of the challenges and issues in the operational areas. 3. MomForce: Launched 11 years ago, MomForce helps talented, motivated parents return to the workforce and gain valuable connections and experience along with the confidence they need to return to work. 4. Adopt-a-Team: A program that pairs support departments with clinical teams to offer encouragement and to show appreciation for their work with simple acts like handwritten notes and goodie carts, 5. Lunch with Linda: The intimate nature of the monthly birthday lunches I host for employees allows each attendee to feel seen and valued, while also fostering cross-departmental bonds among colleagues on different teams. 6. Book Club: Hosting a book club is just one example of identifying an opportunity to connect with younger generations within your organization. 7) Handwritten cards: I mail handwritten cards to employees’ homes to show their value to our company and to thank them for their many years of service. After all, everyone likes to receive something thoughtful in the mail. 8) Run or "Walk" with Linda: I identified an opportunity to leverage pursuit of a personal goal to better connect with my teams, inviting staff of all levels to sign up to run alongside me and discuss ideas, concerns and career goals. Walking meetings can accomplish the same objective! 9) A “Day in the Life” Series: Leaders spend half a day each month shadowing someone from a different department to gather better insight to the work of their colleagues. #BeckersAnnualMeeting #Culture

Leaving the bedside wasn’t an easy decision but becoming a Healthcare Virtual Assistant was the best way I found to continue my passion for helping others. As a Registered Nurse, I loved the impact I made on my patients’ lives every day. But over time, I noticed something troubling😓 the administrative side of healthcare often left incredible professionals feeling overwhelmed, stressed, and disconnected from their purpose. I realized I could help in a different way. By stepping into the role of a Healthcare Virtual Assistant, I could use my nursing expertise and organizational skills to support health professionals behind the scenes. Now, I empower busy physicians, health & wellness instructors, Fitness coaches and health business owners to reclaim their time, focus on their patients, and avoid burnout. I handle the tasks that slow them down managing schedules, streamlining workflows, organizing data, and even building online connections so they can get back to what they do best: changing lives. Making this shift wasn’t just about a career change. It was about solving a problem I saw firsthand and helping others thrive. I traded my stethoscope for spreadsheets, but my mission remains the same: supporting the people who save lives and improve wellness every day. If you’re a health professional ready to take some weight off your shoulders, let’s connect. Send me a message or comment below, and let’s explore how I can support your goals and simplify your life.

Have you ever found yourself in a job where the workplace values conflicted with your personal values? Maybe you were forced to tow a company line that you strongly disagreed with? Or felt processes weren’t supporting people appropriately? If these workplace values conflict with your essential self, it can cause repeated moral injury. This can lead to inner conflict, job dissatisfaction and burnout. I see working in a role that galvanises your personal values as part of a rich and meaningful life. It’s one of the reasons I opened my private practice eluceo – so I could support the people I work with in the way I wanted, stay true to my values, interests and strengths, and create a professional life that nourished and supported my personal one. This topic is one we explore in Vitality Medicine – my 9-month 1:1 program designed to help you create a life that makes you feel wildly alive and wholly yourself. If that lights you up, I’d love to chat. Image description: Dr Ashlea, a fair-skinned woman with dark blonde hair, is standing in the doorway of her private practice eluceo. It's painted bright blue. She's holding a cup of tea and laughing at the camera.

What Truly Matters in Life? 🌟 In the fast-paced world of healthcare and aesthetic clinic management, it’s easy to get caught up in titles, tasks, and daily challenges. But when we take a step back, we realize that what we leave behind is not what we did, but how we made others feel. At the end of the day, nobody will remember: 🚫 Your job title. 🚫 How “busy” you were. 🚫 How many hours you worked. 🚫 The car you drove. What people will remember are the moments that truly matter: ✔️ How you made them feel. ✔️ The advice you gave. ✔️ If you kept your promises. ✔️ If you were there when it mattered. In the field of healthcare, these principles resonate deeply. As an aesthetic clinic operations manager, I’ve learned that success isn’t just about managing processes or delivering results—it’s about building trust, creating meaningful connections, and showing empathy to both patients and colleagues. Let’s focus on what matters most—relationships, reliability, and kindness. These are the foundations of both professional and personal legacy. What do you want to be remembered for? Let’s inspire each other. Share your thoughts below! #HealthcareLeadership #AestheticClinicManagement #PatientExperience #EmpathyMatters #LeadershipInHealthcare #KindnessAtWork #BuildingTrust #ProfessionalGrowth #Inspiration #WorkplaceCulture
