Have you ever felt that you were being done a great privilege by getting quality healthcare? For many people, their health being a right is a new concept and is seen as a privilege offered to them by healthcare workers or the government. The right to health is an right and one that is our utmost responsibility to know and protect. On World Health Day I had the privilege to speak on the theme "My Health, My Right," during an X space organised by ABAN Center for Global Policy and it was truly inspiring to engage in meaningful discussions. It is essential to recognize that no one is more responsible for our health than ourselves. We must make informed decisions to ensure we maintain good health. Some of these decisions include practising healthy eating habits and regular exercise. We also need to hold our governments, healthcare institutions, employers, and school authorities accountable. They must ensure that they provide an environment that not only helps us obtain the necessary medical care when required but also provides access to clean drinking water, mandatory leaves, ergonomic furniture, and preparedness for everyday emergencies. Policies are essential, but it is crucial to enforce them to safeguard the health rights of everyone #WorldHealthDay #HealthForAll #MyHealthMyRight #GlobalHealthEquity

The clear link between active transport & health is one of the benefits of new homes being located on brownfield land in established communities with existing infrastructure. Not only does active transport reduce emissions, but access to infrastructure from new energy efficient homes significantly directly leads to big steps for climate mitigation - households with small carbon footprints. Join the dots
Big news for #Activetransport in NSW: the NSW Active Transport Health Model has just been published. This has been years in the making and offers an evidence-based approach to assessing the #health impacts of active transport, including reductions in disease burden, life expectancy improvements and healthcare cost savings. Check it out on the NSW Health website here: https://lnkd.in/geDku-6Y

In the process of running one of Australia's fastest growing healthcare companies, Kismet this is one of my biggest takeaways: We have to start separating proactive vs reactive health. For too long our system has relied on reactive health, responding to problems as they arise rather than trying to build a healthy society. We have designed Kismet to help NDIS participants achieve their goals so they aren't just stuck in the reactive health cycle. What do you think needs to change in Australian healthcare?
