September is Self-Care Awareness Month. At Healthmap Solutions, we see it as a perfect time to prioritize self-care for kidney health. After all, healthy kidneys are essential to overall health, and simple steps like staying hydrated, eating a balanced diet, and managing stress can make a big difference. Patient self-care is an important element of our Kidney Population Health Management program. We’re proving that engaging patients with their own care produces significant improvements in treatment outcomes. What should your office visit to your physician look like? Yesterday, I mentioned how you can become your own health advocate by starting to ask questions. Bring a pen and a notebook or just enter the questions in the Notes section of your notebook. In addition to that, record some numbers to monitor if they have improved or not. This is what I call “know your numbers”( this tracking will be different for some in terms of what to track). What do I mean? 1. Get used to asking the following: What is my blood pressure? Jot it down! Instead of not responding to the typical “it’s noormal.” What is my cholesterol? What is my pulse? When lab work results are generated, ask about the name of the bacteria or infection so you know about the treatment When you implement the above, your visit will never feel the same and it will be more productive because you will learn about your health. Remember, become interactive and don’t be afraid to ask questions. To a healthier YOU, Dr. Wanda

June is Men's Health Month. Let's talk about preventive care. Going to the doctor isn't just for when you're not feeling well. Preventive care (like screening for heart disease, diabetes, and cancer) is important for helping you maintain your health and diagnosing any medical conditions before they become bigger problems. Despite these benefits, many Americans don't receive the preventive care they need, and research shows that men are less likely than women to get preventive health screenings. The NASH Executive Health program is a comprehensive, cost-effective way for people to receive personalized care and deep insights into their health. It's available for individuals and easy to add on to organization benefit plans at any point during the year. Check out our Executive Health packages (https://lnkd.in/gdFgffmC) and contact us at inquiries@nashcares.com to learn more! #executivehealth #menshealth #menshealthmonth #travelfortreatment #employeebenefits
