This week my inbox and newsfeed is full of two kinds of messages. Joyful, celebratory, excited ones welcoming the end of a tricky year, heralding the coming festive season, and encouraging me to jump feet first into the revelry. And those acknowledging that this time of the year can be laborious, lonely and hard for many people. It's certainly a time of the year when there are a lot of feelings swinging alongside the baubles and tinsel. Celebration, connection, loss and isolation all feel amplified as we approach the end of the year. The strange thing is that sometimes we feel we can only experience these things independently Here's the thing... Life is a constant Venn Diagram of contrasting emotions (remember those from primary school?!). We can experience two opposing thoughts, feelings or experiences at the same time. You can crave rest but also wish for more work. You can be joyful but also feel deep sadness. You can experience loss but also intense relief. You can feel enormously stressed but also extremely energised all at the one time (this one's for my retail and hospitality folks!). We don't need to spend energy denying the opposing realities, instead simply acknowledge they co-exist. Sometimes we hold both sides together, sometimes they overlap and sometimes they're held separately. If Christmas or the end of year is raising big feelings for you please reach out or open up to a trusted professional or friend. Here's to getting through all the things Bel Please join me for my ponderings through this weekly email. Here's the thing is a personal note of encouragement – reflection, inspiration, stories, and sharing. It’s our way of connecting and helping you prepare for the week ahead. https://lnkd.in/gMBb77gU 📸 facilitating a session at the Journey to Wellness Retreat photography by Suzanne Elliott Photography

As the founder of Beautifect, I know firsthand how the festive season can bring both joy and a whirlwind of responsibilities. Balancing the demands of work while embracing the magic of this time of year requires careful planning and intentionality. For me, it's about creating space for what matters most, whether that's leading my team into a successful close of the year or making memories with family. In the beauty industry, this period is a testament to the power of connection. It’s a time when customers are looking for more than just products; they seek experiences, meaning, and thoughtful innovation. At Beautifect, we’ve always focused on creating designs that simplify routines, leaving more time for what brings joy. This philosophy mirrors how I approach the festive season: focusing on quality moments over quantity. For those navigating the balance of professional goals and festive celebrations, here are some insights I’ve found useful: 1️⃣ Prioritize with Purpose: Whether it's finalizing year-end goals or wrapping up gifts, identify what truly adds value and let go of the unnecessary. 2️⃣ Embrace Flexibility: Plans might shift, and that’s okay. Being adaptable allows us to savor the season’s spontaneity while staying grounded in our commitments. 3️⃣ Celebrate Small Wins: Every accomplishment, whether professional or personal, deserves recognition. It’s in these moments we find motivation for what’s ahead. This season is a reminder that success is not just about what we achieve but how we achieve it, finding harmony between ambition and joy. Let’s all take a moment to reflect, celebrate, and prepare for what promises to be a brilliant year ahead. Wishing everyone a season filled with beauty, inside and out. #Leadership #Innovation #BeautyIndustry #FestiveSeason #WorkLifeBalance

🎄✨ The Magic of Christmas: Connecting Through Emotion ✨🎄 As we approach the holiday season, there's a unique magic in the air that touches us all. Christmas is a time of warmth, joy, and reflection—a period when people come together to celebrate, share, and connect. Why does this time of year resonate so deeply with us? It’s simple: the spirit of Christmas evokes powerful emotions. From the nostalgia of childhood memories to the joy of giving and the comfort of family traditions, the holidays remind us of what truly matters. For brands, this is an incredible opportunity to forge deeper connections with their audience. Here’s how: ❤️ Storytelling: Christmas is the perfect backdrop for heartfelt stories that resonate with your audience. Sharing narratives that highlight community, kindness, and love can evoke strong emotional responses and create lasting memories. 🎁 Giving Back: This season is synonymous with generosity. Brands that engage in philanthropic efforts or encourage customers to give back can foster a sense of purpose and connection, building trust and loyalty. 🎉 Creating Experiences: Whether through festive campaigns, events, or immersive digital experiences, brands that create joyful moments can strengthen their bond with customers. It’s about making the season special and memorable. 🌟 Emotional Branding: By tapping into the feelings associated with the holidays—joy, nostalgia, gratitude—brands can craft messaging that resonates deeply. When customers feel a connection, they’re more likely to engage and remain loyal. This Christmas, let’s embrace the magic of the season and use it as a catalyst for meaningful connections. After all, it’s not just about selling products; it’s about creating experiences that touch hearts and leave a lasting impression. I’ve always had mixed feelings about holiday-themed posts from businesses. You know the ones—Happy Independence Day slapped onto a branded graphic with logos, company details, and sometimes even a tagline. I get it, it’s marketing, but here’s the thing: not everyone can create those posts. As an employee or business owner without the tools, budget, or skills to design something polished, I often feel like I can’t celebrate the day without unintentionally “promoting” someone else’s brand. It feels unfair. Why can’t we just celebrate these days genuinely? If you want to post, why not keep it authentic—no logos, no hidden agenda, just a shared moment of unity and celebration. That’s what holidays are about, right? Today, I finally saw someone get it right. Louder Inc. posted something unbranded, genuine, and meaningful. They even said, “Use it however you want.” And I did. It felt refreshing to post something that aligns with my values—free of logos and free of strings attached. To businesses out there: let’s rethink these habits. Let’s celebrate these important days as they’re meant to be—authentically. #AuthenticityOverAds
