While the heart's role in pumping blood is common knowledge, your heart learns and remembers! Cardiac neurons (brain cells within the heart) process information and respond to stimuli. Studies show the heart retains emotional memories separate from the brain, influencing future responses. When someone experiences cardiac arrest, the heart, kidneys, and lungs may recover, but the brain doesn’t bounce back as easily. This vulnerability to anoxic brain injury is why we often cool patients. Monitoring and understanding energy flow in the brain is crucial. 🌟 Understanding the Impact of Photophobia on the Brain 🌟 For those struggling with light sensitivity, migraines, and visual disturbances, life can feel overwhelming. This image illustrates the difference between an overactive brain affected by photophobia and the positive regulation achieved with NeuroSpectral Regulation (NSR) filters. If you or someone you know experiences these symptoms, consider exploring NSR filters as a non-invasive, effective option for relief. 👓 #NeuroSpectralRegulation #MigraineRelief #LightSensitivity #OccupationalTherapy #NSRFilters

September is Brain Aneurysm Awareness Month! 🧠 Approximately 1 in 50 people in the U.S. have an unruptured brain aneurysm, which amounts to nearly 6.5 million people. Every year, about 30,000 people in the U.S. experience a brain aneurysm rupture. About 40% of aneurysm ruptures result in death, and 66% of survivors experience some form of permanent neurological deficit. At MicroVention-Terumo, we stand with those affected by brain aneurysms and their families. This month, let’s raise awareness, share knowledge, and support research to prevent and treat this condition. #BrainAneurysmAwareness #BrainHealthMatters #EarlyDetectionSavesLives #stopthepop #Scan2Save Sources: Brain Aneurysm Foundation, @American Stroke Association
