Intimate partner violence is an epidemic. As of June 2024, there have been 35 reported cases of femicide (the gender-based killing of women, gender-diverse people and children) in Ontario. Every day that passes without action is another day where lives are at risk. In particular, those of women and children. This violence is preventable. This violence can be addressed, but if we refuse to name it for what it is, and epidemic, how can we ensure it is addressed adequately? We penned an op-ed for the Toronto Star about the urgent need for the Ontario government to act, and formally declare intimate partner violence an epidemic. Check out the post below for the link 👇🏻
