This in turn makes their communities economically stronger and more resilient. Additionally, these farmers can play an important role in mitigating climate change and restoring the environment through land stewardship and practicing regenerative agriculture. We could never have anticipated we would be at the centre of what is, quite frankly, one of the biggest rural issues our countryside is facing right now. It is a very easy win for politicians to say they ‘back British farmers’ and recognise food security. In reality, the situation is quite different. Year after year, rural poverty is driving people to leave the countryside in search of a better life in the city. Overcrowded cities put vulnerable youth at risk and causes forced migration. 3. By 2050 there will be more than 9 billion people on earth. That means two billion more mouths to feed by mid-century. 4. 🌧️ Climate Challenges: UK Farmers Under Pressure 🚜    Recent heavy rainfall has submerged UK farms and put livestock at risk, leading to urgent calls from the National Farmers Union (NFU) for increased government support. NFU Vice President Rachel Hallos explicitly states that climate change is a direct threat to our food security and demands immediate action.    Debbie Wilkins, a farmer at Norton Court Farm, stresses the urgent need for help as floods devastate farmland.
