I've often been described as "determined." In fact, this word has appeared in nearly every performance review I've received—and even in my husband's wedding speech! Recently, I've been reflecting on what sparked this (clearly) dominant personality trait. A standout moment was during my Year 8 parents' evening when my Science teacher asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. At the time, I hadn't given it much thought, so I offered a generic and slightly uninspiring answer. His response was simple but impactful: "Aim higher… you might just get there." Science didn’t turn out to be my strong point, but that sentiment has stayed with me ever since. This is why I'm so passionate about the Pearson English Language Teacher Awards launching today. It’s not just a great marketing initiative (credit to the amazing Thomas Gardner Sophie Quarterman) but also a chance to recognize and celebrate the incredible role teachers play in shaping lives. It’s true what they say—a great teacher makes all the difference! Nominate your teacher, a peer, or an inspiring ELL educator you know today: https://lnkd.in/eH2tXTkQ And if you don’t work in the English Language Learning world, I’d love to hear your stories on how great teachers have inspired you! #Education #TeachingHeroes #LanguageLearning #PearsonEnglishTeacherAward #PearsonLanguages
