Daily Autism Tips!!! Offering choices is a powerful way to empower individuals with autism and enhance their decision-making skills. By presenting options, you provide them with a sense of control and power over their lives, which is crucial for fostering independence and self-confidence. It's important to keep choices manageable and relevant to avoid overwhelming the individual. Providing clear options and explaining the potential outcomes can help them make informed decisions. Additionally, offering support and guidance when needed can build their decision-making skills gradually over time. By incorporating choice into daily activities and routines, you create opportunities for learning and growth while promoting independence and self-esteem. #autismadvocate #autismspeaks #autismlife #autism #autismmum #autismacceptance #autismlove #autismfamily #autismparent #autismjourney #autismdad #autismstrong #autismworld #autismcommunity #education #learning #school #children #study #technology #support #inclusion #learning

“Pupil voice has changed practice. Pupils are better able to self-advocate because they know they will be heard." - Kent School. The Autism Education Trust (AET) training and frameworks are built around eight key principles. Principle Two is "enabling the voice of the autistic child and young person to contribute to and influence decisions". The training encourages staff to talk to autistic pupils about what they would like to be put in place to support them. It is very important to educate siblings and friends of an individual with autism about their conditions and the need for any special intervention or care and the reasons why more attention and focus might be on their sibling with autism. Empowering siblings and peers about autism requires patience and understanding. Start with simple explanations, encourage questions, and focus on similarities and differences. Share personal stories, highlight strengths, and discuss sensory sensitivities. Practice empathy, provide resources, and lead by example. Emphasize open communication, celebrate diversity, and provide resources for further learning. Together, we can create a more inclusive and supportive environment." #autismadvocate #autismspeaks #autismlife #autism #autismmum #autismacceptance #autismlove #autismfamily #autismparent #autismjourney #autismdad #autismstrong #autismworld #autismcommunity #education #learning #school #children #study #technology #support #inclusion #learning #health #motivation #healthlifestyle #disabiltysupport

As children with autism develop their ability to make choices, it's critical that families and care providers understand their individual preferences. ⠀ Each child with autism is unique. To embrace their differences, those around them must respect their preferences and interests when providing choices. What works for one child may not work for another. ⠀ ABA therapy can easily facilitate these unique preferences by incorporating personalized social skills training, helping children navigate social situations and make appropriate choices in interactions with peers and adults. 👨👩👦👦 ⠀ Being able to make their own choices in social settings allows children to confidently navigate various aspects of their lives. ⠀ Interested in how ABA therapy can further develop choice-making skills and independence in your home? ⠀ Discover our ABA therapy solutions 🌐 https://lnkd.in/emgbhkq ⠀ #Independence #Autism #Children #Childcare #AutismAwareness #ABATherapy
