We’re back and we've missed you! The Core Visuals team has been hard at work and we're thrilled to share the latest enhancements for Marker Styles that we included in our October 2024 Power BI update. These additional enhancements for markers provide more options to emphasize important data points, visually categorize series, and improve the overall look-and-feel of your designs. Have a look at this new article and stay tuned for more!

Great improvement. Am I misreading the post or is it not yet possible to conditionally show/colorize markers? The example in the post shows a specific category to show/hide, but I can imagine that people would want to show the marker for the latest month and hide the rest. Or maybe show a different color depending on the value.

Great improvements! Thanks for the continous updates. One question: is conditional formatting for bar charts in your plan?

Finally. Some good IBCS potential there.

Great to see improvements on Power BI core visuals, because there is still truely a gap in capabilities: These new capabilities need to be possible to control by measure/data, not by handcrafted layout pollishing. Marker shape, marker color, marker border, marker label, line color, line style… needs to be configurable by measures/fields from data. This would significantly increase expressiveness and user experience of dashboards - currently seems to be just handcrafted one-time use and pollishing.

amen to this: "However, with great control comes great responsibility - so make sure to explore these new options and use them wisely" Don't go nuts.

Another wishlist item (which I *know* you know everyone wants) is label positioning BEYOND "above" and "below". There should NOT be software that has been around for 10 years without the ability to put data labels to the left or right or even centered on a data point.

Also, the ability to change the marker width and height separately instead of just size.

These options are great! Is it also possible to apply the settings of the marker to the last category? So when I have new data it will automatically go to the latest value?
