Getting ready to play with the new text slicer! I see that the Calendar Slicer is still in pending status. When are you planning on sharing the first draft? 😀

Will this be able to use a list as an input to search or is it one value at a time?

Interesting update, i assume this emulates the ‘contains’ text filter. Can it handle wildcards though? Is filtering ‘multiple words/phrases’ on the roadmap?

I like talking about data visualisation and actionable insights in Power BI, and pushing for better vis & UI/UX. @InsightsMachine on Twitter.

I just wasted time on this very premature #PowerBI functionality looking for how to enter multiple terms. You can't yet. But I had to go to the release blog which then sent me here to find that out. And even then it's not even mentioned in the article, but the comments. C'mon! Why release something with less smarts than the existing Slicer? Things like this are a buzz-kill for me, Miguel Myers. It just makes me less likely to make time to play with other preview features in future because I equate "Preview" with "Half-baked". I don't understand what benefit you gain from releasing this so early.

I always love to see what the Power BI team puts out, but I'm a little disappointed in how they call it "commitment to enhancing user experience". Such a commitment would be demonstrated by looking at the ideas for visuals already in play that have been suggested years ago with thousands of votes and still go nowhere. I love new stuff, but I wish a greater emphasis would be placed on bringing the current visuals to 100% instead of getting new stuff and always running at 75%.

Miguel Myers you did an awesome demo of the future state of the filter pane. I’ve been waiting every monthly release for the past year and I never see any investment in the filter pane. Can we do all these slicers in the filter pane. Everyone is moving away from the filter pane because it is so limited and Microsoft is making no investment there (at least it seems that way). but slicers are soooo time consuming having to set up all the bookmarks or taking up space on the canvas. When can we have enhancements to the filter pane. Super desperate for that.
