One of my favorite quotes from the Federal Technology Symposium this past Tuesday came from one of my favorite cybersecurity experts, Laura Rodgers: “Cybersecurity should be important AND urgent- not just to protect DoD data and your intellectual property but for the security of this country.” This is such a crucial statement, as it highlights how national security depends on safeguarding sensitive information. Protecting data ensures the integrity of our defense systems and the innovation driving our economy. Organizations must take ownership of and address / fund the basic fundamentals of sound IT Ops & Cybersecurity Hygiene practices - in order to reduce their attack surfaces.
