That depends on the following factors: - Your own assessment -> How do I perceive the demands? As a burden or as an opportunity? - Individual situation -> Do I feel overloaded or insufficiently challenged? - Personal resources and preferences -> Do I enjoy my work? Do I have enough energy to cope with demands? The aim is to achieve a #balance between #job demands and #resources. Our #tips will help you and your employees to achieve this. 🙌 Would you like to expand your practical knowledge of this topic? Here's my message to employers everywhere: Be the change you want to see in the world. When it comes to health and wellbeing, everyone deserves to be able to access the initiative they need - not just so they can perform better at work, but so they can live happier, healthier lives in general. But the fact is, taking care of those needs are incredibly expensive, and most people don't have money sitting aside for them. Even if you're an employer who provides your team with a decent benefit package, there are often limitations and very little autonomy if your staff have specific needs. That only leads to your team delaying the treatments they need or want to try, negatively impacting their health and wellbeing in the long term, as well as their ability to bring their best selves to work. It's an unfair reality many organizations face, but it's one we at HealthNow know can be overcome. By providing a system that entrusts employees with allocating their own health and wellbeing funds, they can get the support they need faster, grow their trust in your organization's values, and continue being a vital member of your team. Everyone wants to see a happier, healthier world where people can easily access their needs and feel supported by their leadership. As an employer, HealthNow is your opportunity to make that desire for change a reality. #innovation #entrepreneur #Entrepreneurship #HR

What do your employees need to stay healthy in the long term? You can help them in two ways: - Through behavioural prevention: you can positively influence your employees’ individual behaviour, e.g. by means of anti-stress programmes, nutrition courses, exercise programmes. - Through situational prevention: by organising working conditions in such a way that they promote health, e.g. by creating ergonomic workplaces. What are your experiences to date? Please share them with us in the comments. Would you like to expand your practical knowledge of this topic? Success comes at a cost, but should it be your health? Stats say 72% of entrepreneurs are experiencing mental health issues and the stories of these two entrepreneurs highlight the importance of prioritizing well-being in the entrepreneurial journey. Last month, two famous figures were in the limelight due to health-related issues. Zerodha’s CEO Nithin Kamath who is a fitness enthusiast experienced a mild stroke due to his father’s death which led to poor sleep, exhaustion, and excessive exercise. He later advised people that exercise is important but should be done in moderation (not over-exercising) along with getting adequate sleep On the other hand, Sadhguru was also suffering from a severe headache but he ignored it and continued his schedule and activities which led him to undergo emergency surgery. These 2 incidents highlight the importance of health over work. People know that health is the most important thing to take care of, but they still often neglect it due to work or other kinds of stress And as business owners, we play an important role in taking care of our employees' health as well as our own. It includes both mental as well as physical health. We at Primarc try our best to keep our employees stress-free by 1. Encourage them to take small breaks every few hours. 2. Keep a regular check on their behavior at work. 3. Designing an open space office with a balcony and amphitheater that allows employees to move and engage freely. 4. Hosting regular engagement activities to relieve some of the workload during office hours. 5. Promoting a culture of work-life balance and discouraging overtime This is crucial to make your employees feel important and appreciated if you want to keep top talent and improve performance. What else would you like to add to the list? #entrepreneurship #health

I recently met with the owner of a small business, which has a team of around 40 employees, to discuss the benefits of implementing a health-screening program. I asked if the company had ever had such a program in place. Despite being in business for over 10 years, the answer was no. Why not? The assumption was that if they implemented a health-screening program, half of the team might be signed off by their doctors due to serious conditions being identified. I explained...this outcome is unlikely. What's more likely is that the team will become more educated about their health and more focused on improving their diet and exercise habits. In the long term this will lead to less sickness absence... Having convinced the business owner of this we are now at first base and planning to deploy a health-screening program! Health-screening doesn't have to be scary for either the employer or the employees. It's something every employer should consider to maintain a healthy and productive team. A small investment in this area now can lead to significant savings in the long run. If you would like to see what type of assessments we offer, visit https://lnkd.in/eyVTBWwD

The same simple self-care practices that are recommended for employees such as talking, regular exercise, healthy eating and relaxation can provide powerful defences against stress for business owners. In severe cases, seeking appropriate professional help can offer tailored strategies for managing challenges. The organisations that support businesses with training, mentoring and funding also have a role to play and must integrate health and wellbeing into their offers. The narrative around business ownership must shift from glorifying the ‘hustle culture’ to encouraging sustainable, healthy growth. Addressing burnout is not only an ethical imperative but also an economic one. Business ownership is a cornerstone of economic innovation and growth, but it cannot thrive without prioritising the wellbeing of those at its heart. Business owners should be encouraged and able to succeed without sacrificing their wellbeing. At MIND Your Business we put people at the heart of business and help business owners to avoid feelings of guilt about putting themselves first.
