🤯 A Wall Street VP just messaged me: 'Sergio, your analyst is outperforming my $80k local hires.' Here's what happened... Last month, a PE firm needed an M&A analyst. Their challenges: - Growing deal flow - Limited budget - High local salary demands - Need for quality work Enter Juan* from Argentina: - CFA Level II candidate - Ex-Deloitte experience - Strong modeling skills - Native English The difference? US Salary Range: $60-80k Remote Salary: $30k But here's the real kicker: After 3 weeks, Juan's financial models were so good, the PE firm asked if we had more analysts like him. Key learnings: - Top talent exists globally - Location ≠ Quality - Remote saves 50-60% costs - Results speak louder than zip codes Why am I sharing this? Because too many firms still think they need to pay NYC salaries for NYC quality. They don't. P.S. Have you ever worked with remote finance talent? Drop a simple Yes/No below 👇 *Name changed for privacy

👋 Meet Anson, a Bloomberg Customer Support (BCS) representative in Hong Kong. “I have a double degree in engineering and finance, and was inspired to apply for BCS because I thought it would be valuable in helping me develop my soft skills. I also wanted the opportunity to engage directly with clients and learn effective problem-solving skills. I’m responsible for addressing client inquiries through phone calls, instant messaging and occasionally via emails. The dynamic environment keeps work exciting by ensuring that no two days are the same. It’s also given me an excellent starting point to familiarize myself with Bloomberg’s products. We’re involved in projects that range from client training to data management and even new hire support. Witnessing our client’s interest in Bloomberg also reminds me of the impact we have on their experience and the value we have in facilitating their use of Bloomberg’s resources. One piece of advice I’d give to anyone looking for a job is to not be afraid of asking questions. It’s your chance to gather more information, so you can make an informed decision about whether the job aligns with your skills, interests and career goals.” Check out Anson's interview tips below. 👇 🌏 Multi-lingual? Our global clients are waiting for you. Explore the latest career opportunities and learn more about working at Bloomberg here: https://bloom.bg/3Yomy1N #MakeItHappenHere #Careers

How much are bad hires really costing your business? 🚨 Over €50,000 – and that's just the direct costs. Here’s a quick breakdown (based on a junior M&A analyst entry position with a €5,000 monthly salary): 😭 Direct Costs: - Salary for 6 months: €30,000 - Employer contributions: €6,000 - Recruitment costs (e.g., via headhunter): €10,000 - Onboarding, training, and equipment: €6,000 😲 Indirect Costs: - Time until you find the new employee: nothing gets done. - Not performing? The time you spend explaining and explaining things all over again. - Back to square one: You need to research companies, correct presentations, and do the financial modeling... 👉 What if you instead: - Have someone start to work for you within a few days. - Have no risk and long-term commitment and keep full flexibility. - "Test" your next hire on live projects and see if you're happy with the performance. Sounds too good? Let's have a chat with (Super)Analyst. Shoutout to Tim Woitinek for the inspiration for this post 🙏 #TestYourNextHire #CorporateFinance #AnalystAsAService

The 4 most common reasons that new clients reach out to us for financial help: • Not sure what to do with company stock • A rapidly growing income • Financial complexity and confusion (and candidly, not enough time) • Referral from a family or friend Don’t fit one of these categories? That’s okay, we’d probably love to work with you too. We are always eager to connect and help out high achieving tech professionals. Curious if it’s time for you to hire a planner? Here’s 5 reasons why you might consider hiring a financial planner: https://lnkd.in/gGiGNATU I go into a bit more depth on a number of areas. PS: Have you ever worked with a financial planner before? What did you think?

What do Private Equity firms look for in a candidate ? Have been actively recruiting since the last couple of quarters, here are my thoughts. At an Associate / Analyst level, we are looking at 3 key qualities, in no particular order 1. Analytics Ability - Lots of number crunching required ! 2. Presentation skills - You need to make sense of the number crunching, explain thought process with clarity & confidence and weave a story for investment thesis around it 3. Drive - Call it enthusiasm, energy, passion, commitment, this can be the differentiator as unlike the other two, this may not necessarily be an acquired skill. The learning curve is steep and exhilarating. Enabling investment decisions is a daunting and empowering responsibility. Private equity is about creating value, and candidates who can truly add value will stand out. PS - Still hiring !

A great start to September for my Houston corporate associates! 2 new jobs came in hot late yesterday. 1. Private Equity and M&A Associate, Houston, 2017-2022 grads. I just placed at this firm last week! I've reached out to my firm recruiting contact to find out more about the grad year, as a 2017 is very different from a 2022, lol! 2. Energy transactional associate, Houston, 2018-2021 grads only; the ideal candidate will have experience with tax equity deals, build transfers, and tax credit purchases and expertise in the energy industry, including power, renewable energy, and oil and gas. The firm is willing to train on those for the right candidate. I'm downtown today, so message me to meet up to discuss these 2 new jobs. For your information, we are seeing firms get overwhelmed with resumes for corporate jobs. In Dallas last week, I submitted candidates to different corporate openings on day 5 after the job post, and the firms had 4 candidates interviewing for each job by the end of day 3. No joke! One firm had an offer out before my candidates could even get a screener scheduled. Why? We have candidates who have been on the sidelines since Dec. 2022. Everyone is jumping on 1-2 job openings. I'm not trying to scare you but it's competitive out there.
