The Dream Machine - 5173 #AIArt Prompt: Create a Realistic depiction of a Technology-based setting. The scene has a nostalgic Sepia tone adding to its old-world charm. The atmosphere emanates a sense of Happiness, with subtle symbols and elements suggesting a Victory. Perhaps there's a successful launch of a spacecraft, or a computer algorithm finally decoding a complex code, that reflects triumph in technology. Imagine this scene taking place in a bustling innovation lab or a quiet computer room.

Its good to know people like Dan Goldin know how important it is that the AI tech driving business transformation does not remain Earth bound, optimizing the federation of data and its conversion to intelligence in orbit is a game changer, so pleased to be leading D-Orbit's journey in this direction, lighting the way to rapid positive impact for all ..
Excuse my Bronx, but if we want to have a real space industry, not a foo foo space industry, we've got to put AI up there. Right now a significant amount of compute for space is done in data centers and mission control. We need to start having it done at the edge. It's definitely hard, as the harsh space environment with its radiation and vacuum properties that impact hardware capabilities. But we have launch vehicles, launch towers, spacecraft, onboard propulsion and antennas. In the end, it comes down to the damn semiconductor. I'm sending tons of support to those taking on this endeavor. #ai

Edge computing in space. Interesting. It will all come down to the economics of latency and bandwidth of earth-space communication. In other words, it really is a question of network, as opposed to a question of compute. In a world, where our future internet here on Earth will almost certainly be sourced from outer space intermediary (e.g Starlink), there will be significant commercial impetus to decrease latency and increase bandwidth of Earth-Space communication. And this pressure will be organic via market competition. All of this seems to argue for keeping compute here on Earth, or at least it argues that it may not matter where you choose to house your AI compute -- hence other factors such as cybersecurity will factor into the equation. Eitherway, Dan Goldin you're a star! Do check out my new book, "The Foundational Mathematics of Artificial Intelligence." https://a.co/d/6QMVDn3

#aiWare's space adventure has come to an end, as C3S Electronics Development LLC's 3U CubeSat satellite VIREO (Virtual Intelligence Realization for Earth Observation), launched on 15 April 2023, completed its mission on 7 August. The mission's aim, which was unique on an international scale, was to use and extend artificial intelligence's in-flight processing capabilities in space. Several space experiments were carried out on board VIREO, but the most exciting for us, of course, was the integration of our NPU for automotive neural networks, aiWare, into the satellite. This solution was then used to process image data captured by the satellite's cameras in space using AI-based image processing algorithms. This demonstration was also an innovative technology transfer, as we sent an automotive hardware accelerator into space - which proved that it can easily overcome any obstacle, whether on Earth or in space. #aiMotive #DrivingSaferMobility #Space #NPU #Automotive #Technology

If you're looking for even more stringent requirements than the automotive industry, look to the skies – the space industry is setting even tougher challenges for manufacturers. The fact that aiWare was designed for automotive use, but has also held up flawlessly in space, is a testament to the fact that there really are no impossible challenges for my brilliant colleagues here at aiMotive. *Insert space-related inspirational quote, such as: to infinity and beyond, shoot for the stars, aim to the Moon*:) #aiMotive #DrivingSaferMobility #aiWare #Space #Automotive #Technology

Ariane 5 Rocket catastrophe with more than 290 Millions Dollars losses, reminds us: Don't just test your software. Test it incredibely well. Nowadays, add the power of AI to support you in finding potential failures. The failure of the Ariane 5 rocket in 1996, which exploded just 37 seconds after launch, highlights the critical importance of thorough software testing. A simple software bug, caused by the incorrect handling of a data conversion error, resulted in the loss of more than $290 million spacecraft. This disaster underscores how small coding issues can lead to catastrophic failures when software isn't rigorously tested. Testing ensures that even minor flaws are detected before they escalate in high-stakes systems like aerospace. The Ariane 5 incident is a stark reminder that testing is not just a phase, but a fundamental safeguard in software development. #SpaceX achieved something that no industry expert had done before. A major factor behind this success is learning from experts without allowing those learnings to limit imagination. Challenging assumptions and overcoming #cognitive biases leads to innovation. If we approach something new with the #mindset that 'no industry expert has ever done this,' we limit ourselves. #Innovation requires imagination, not just conventional ways of doing things. https://lnkd.in/d_BGARmz
