Last Friday Goteborg-Energi Nät hosted a workshop with Pixii AS, Eidsiva Peak Shaper, and forward leaning DSOs such as Vattenfall Eldistribution AB, Lidköping Energi, Kinnekulle Energi and Tidaholms Energi & Bostads AB, where we discussed how batteries can support local grids. It was very interesting to discuss issues such as over and under voltage, phase imbalances and large voltage amplitudes, and how BESS can be part of the solution. In Pixii AS, we believe BESS and smart inverters are great tools for handling these types of problems through services such as active/reactive power compensation and phase balancing, and through Value Stacking we are not only enabling a rapid green transition, but also ensuring that BESS becomes attractive investments. We truly believe BESS will be a key component in the grid moving forward, and we appreciate the interest from forward leaning DSOs! Powerful solution for connecting (weak) grids! During the recently organized festival "Into the Great Wide Open" on Vlieland, Damen, in collaboration with Mc Energy ® - Peak shaving solution , connected a weak grid with the temporary energy supply provided by Greener Power Solutions. This made it possible to supplement the available energy from Greener Power Solutions 's battery containers with energy from the local grid. Partly due to the use of the Damen B-shore (developed by Mc Energy ® - Peak shaving solution is in our DNA in principle as a shore power supply), the festival could take place without generators and there was therefore virtually no emission of unloading gases. This fits in perfectly with the sustainable initiative that ITGWO #intothegreatwideopen stands for as a festival. The technical challenge turned out to be no problem for the inverter of Mc Energy ® - Peak shaving solution and it has been shown that even weak grid connections can be used without any problems in a larger energy supply.

Last week, Gabriel Yarce from the Sorption Technologies team joined the General Assembly of the Hycool-IT EU Project in Messina, Italy. This event was key for advancing energy-efficient ICT server room technologies under this EU-funded initiative. Sorption Technologies is proud to share its expertise in adsorption cooling and low-temperature heat recovery. We presented results for the proof-of-concept adsorption chiller specially designed for the heat recovery of ICT server rooms. With our partners, we're developing an innovative solution to integrate that use waste heat for sustainable cooling on buildings with server room, meeting the latest energy efficiency standards. The discussions were productive, focusing on refining strategies, aligning technical approaches, and exploring replicable solutions for future use. Sorption Technologies is committed to driving innovation in sustainable cooling technologies and supporting the EU's energy efficiency and environmental goals. Follow us for more updates!

🏭 There are currently more than 9,000 companies waiting for a connection to the electricity grid across the Netherlands ⚡️ The long wait for extra capacity prevents businesses from growing and electrifying, and means business parks will soon have to turn away new businesses on their sites. For cities like Dordrecht, this means delaying plans to develop the logistics sector, threatening competitiveness and a loss of thousands of potential new jobs. In COPPER, Gemeente Dordrecht is responding to this challenge by developing a Local Energy Action Plan (LEAP). Working with business parks DistriPark Dordrecht and Dordtse Kil 3 and its DSO Stedin, Dordrecht will pilot new flexibility techniques and build a LEAP to combine urban planning and energy network planning.
