"There's 115 million that we won't be able to reach with the support that we would like to. In DRCongo, as with all these conflicts, we are ready to do more. My people are desperate to get out there and deliver because they really are on the frontline. They can see what is needed but we need these resources. That's our call to action. We need the world and those with power to do more, to challenge this era of impunity and this era of indifference." World Humanitarian Day is a day dedicated to honoring humanitarian efforts worldwide. It's a day that acknowledges and celebrates the unwavering commitment of individuals and organizations who tirelessly provide aid and support, particularly in times of crisis and disaster. The principles of this day are humanity, neutrality, impartiality, and independence. What do those words mean to you? Did you know that August is also National Civility Month? This day reminds us of the importance of compassion, empathy, and solidarity in making the world a better place for all. This picture shows hands and hearts and flowers. A joyful visual. I think it's especially important for us to practice these skills mentioned above now, as we are in a political year. Rather than being divisive, let's respect each other for our perspectives. I hope we can recognize each other's value as human beings who desire to experience love, understanding, and peace. #human #peace #diversityandinclusion

🌍 International Day of Peace - 21st September Tomorrow, September 21st, the world observes the International Day of Peace—a day dedicated to upholding peace at a time when it feels more fragile than ever. With rising tensions, armed conflicts, and aggression affecting communities globally, peace is no longer something we can take for granted. This day, established by the United Nations in 1981, is a stark reminder that peace is not just an ideal, but a shared responsibility and an urgent call to action. At EWB-SWE, we have long-standing experience working with underserved communities in the Global South. While we do not operate in conflict or disaster zones, we’ve witnessed firsthand how vital peace is for communities to build basic infrastructure such as water, sanitation, shelter, food, education, and electricity. Peace is the foundation of humanitarian development. #PeaceBeginsWithMe #InternationalDayOfPeace #HumanitarianDevelopment #engineerswithoutborders #ewbswe #ewbsweden #EngineeringForHumanity #HumanitarianEngineering https://lnkd.in/dPufiZXb
