A property on Independence Boulevard has been a recent topic of discussion because it could soon be rezoned to allow hundreds of rental units. But one New Hanover County commissioner says the property could possibly be used to provide green space for residents. The 60.9-acre property at 3990 Independence Boulevard could be home to 580 rental units if the Wilmington City Council approves a rezoning. Got a project in the City of Vancouver Broadway Plan? Over 35 towers with more then 7,000 rental homes are now proposed in the area, covering a large portion of Kitsilano, Fairview, and Mount Pleasant. The Broadway Plan's first formal detailed rezoning applications for secured purpose-built rental housing projects in high-rise tower-based building forms were published by the municipal government beginning in Spring 2023, with the pace turning into a flood by Fall 2023. In comparison, the nearby Squamish Nation Senakw project will have 6,080 secured purpose-built rental homes, including 4,865 market rental units and 1,215 below-market rental units. Keyland recently sold its interests in Templegate Developments Ltd to joint venture partner EVANS PROPERTY GROUP for an undisclosed sum.   TEMPLEGATE DEVELOPMENTS LIMITED is the company behind Skelton Gate, a 170-acre former open-cast colliery site to the east of Junction 45 of the M1.   Skelton Gate is being developed and built using key principles of sustainable development whilst delivering a residentially led mixed-use scheme of high quality and design. To date, the partnership of Evans and Keyland has secured planning permission for Phases 1 and 2, which includes up to 1,100 homes, a new school, public open space, a local centre and a food store. An application is currently running for Phase 3, which will provide an additional 700 homes and infrastructure. Significant progress is being made on Livv Housing Group’s new social rent housing scheme in Kirkby, Merseyside. Situated on the former site of the Farmers Arms pub on Mossborough Drive, this £2.6million development will introduce 20 high quality, cottage-style apartments, providing much-needed affordable housing in the area. The development will include a mix of one- and two-bedroom apartments, each with its own front door at street level. The homes will be spread across two ‘L’-shaped, two-storey buildings, which will surround a central courtyard with parking and communal gardens for residents to enjoy.
